Cashing a winning ticket on a NBA parlay has been a tough nut to crack. I was excited when two of my three parlay picks hit on last week’s card then I realized it’s still a losing ticket. With most teams right around the 40-game mark we’ve reached the midway point of the season leaving us with ample time to make up for the shortcomings from the first half. I’ll take solace in knowing that I’m getting closer to that winning parlay and continue to make informed wagers. The NBA schedule for Friday, January 19 features eight games and an ESPN doubleheader with a matchup between the NBA best Boston Celtics and defending champion Denver Nuggets highlighting the schedule. The biggest game of the night also kicks off the national television coverage.
One week after backing and hitting the OVER in a matchup between Indiana and Atlanta, the two went at it again and I dipped my toes in that well a second time. This one, however, didn’t pay off and I suffered my lone defeat of the week. The Pacers did their part getting halfway to the total of 250.5, but the Hawks didn’t in their 126-108 setback. My winning picks came against the line backing the Clippers as an 8.5-point favorite in their 128-119 win over Memphis. Also, the Jazz are on a major heater right now blowing out Toronto for their fourth straight win and payout. They added two more of each after that win. Unfortunately the Jazz aren’t playing on Friday so I have to look elsewhere for winning NBA parlay picks.

The Celtics were pissed they didn’t get to face the Denver Nuggets in last season’s NBA Finals. They are finding a way to remedy the situation by leading the Association with a 31-9 record through 40 games. All nine of those setbacks have come on the road meaning Boston is perfect through 19 home games. And they’ve been a good bet on the parquet floor getting the money in over 63 percent of their games. And we’re well aware of Denver’s road struggles, which have continued this season. The Nuggets boast the third highest winning percentage in the Western Conference yet they’re just 11-10 in away games while going 7-14 against the line.
The Mavericks and Warriors almost always play entertaining games. The West rivals cashed the OVER in each of their last five encounters and eight of 10 with Luka Doncic enjoying some of his finest moments against the Dubs. Luka missed a few games with an ankle injury and his status is unknown. Even if he doesn’t play the Mavs have plenty of weapons led by Kyrie Irving to match the Dubs.
Switching back to a lineup that’s been successful, the Lakers scored a bit win over OKC on Monday and look to start a surge like they did last season. Poor play and injuries prompted Davin Ham to manipulate his rotations without much success. However, we saw more focus and better defense in the OKC game. The Lakers still have a chance for a good homestand and the Nets are just an obstacle in their way. I’m backing LA on the line against a Nets squad that has faded after a hot start.
