Turns out I did well on my Super Bowl bets and it was much needed in order to fund my NBA parlays since I haven’t been as successful. We can now turn our full attention to the NBA and hopefully my fortunes will change. There is a light six-game schedule on tap for Tuesday, Feb. 13 but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some intriguing matchups to ponder when filling out that NBA parlay. The best team in the league is in action with the Boston Celtics visiting Atlantic Division rival Brooklyn. The Celtics hit 41 wins before any other team even has 37. They also have a pair of double digit wins over the Nets already this season.
The first game of TNT’s doubleheader on Tuesday has two surprising teams tangling in the Sunshine State. Entering the week just a game off the pace in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder visit Orlando. The Magic have cooled since a hot start but remain a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference only a half game out of the top six. This game also features the top two money makers in the Association with them being the only clubs in the NBA with a cover rate better than 60 percent. Sacramento visits Phoenix in a Western Conference clash in TNT’s nightcap. Since Jan. 11 the Suns are 12-4 securing eight payouts in that span.

Another frustrating week with my NBA parlay picks has me back at the drawing board to figure out this darn game. Instead of leading off with the Saturday games that didn’t work out for me I’ll start with the one that did. Backing Orlando as a 5-point home favorite against the Bulls paid off with a 114-108 Magic win. Now the bad news. The Clippers beat Detroit for the second time in a week and just like the first game the Pistons stayed within the spread. And just like the first time I backed the Clips. Lastly, the Suns and Warriors played below the closing total, and of course I bet the OVER.
I have to side with Celtics in their matchup with Brooklyn. Boston has owned the best record in the NBA pretty much all season and the Nets aren’t that good. The problem is that the line is going to be significant. The clubs played twice within the span of six days back in November with a Boston laying double-figures both times. They were able to get a cover and a push in those games, so that’s encouraging. As long as Boston doesn’t take its opponent lightly I think they have the goods to post another convincing win.
The OKC-Orlando matchup will be fun because the teams having successful seasons thus far. The Magic also have something to prove after getting blown out 112-100 when the clubs met earlier in OKC. The Magic’s home/road splits are glaring with their homecourt success a big reason why they’re fighting for top six. They’ve also been a solid bet getting the money in nearly 70 percent of their home games. I’m gonna sneak in a same-game parlay on this one backing the UNDER as well with two strong defensive clubs.
Switching coaches hasn’t had the desired effect for Milwaukee with the club experiences some bumps under Doc Rivers. The Bucks took out their frustrations on Charlotte ending a three-game slide with a 120-84 win on Friday. This is the second of a back-to-back for the Bucks after tangling with Denver the night before and that won’t be good against a disciplined Heat squad that nearly upset Boston on Sunday without leading scorer Jimmy Butler in the lineup.
