NBA Picks - Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards

The Golden State Warriors are healthy and rolling. That’s not good news for the Washington Wizards. Golden State is on the road next time out but they have had great success the past two games with a starting lineup that could double as an All-Star team. With DeMarcus Cousins healthy, this team figures to go on a hot streak moving forward.

The Wizards will try to do everything they can to keep up but it’s going to be tough. The talent differential in this game will be stark. Golden State has moved to the top of the Western Conference and will aim to pull away from the field. The Warriors are the easy pick to win this game in NBA gambling.

This NBA basketball game between the Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards will be held at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, January 24th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on TNT.

Odds Analysis

The Warriors have a record of 33-14 on the season. They have won eight consecutive games to surpass the Nuggets for the top spot in the West and are now on the heels of the Bucks and Raptors for the best record in the NBA. Golden State has done well on the road lately and has won 14 of 22 attempts away from home on the season.

The Wizards have a mark of 20-26 on the year. They are only two games outside of a playoff berth in the East although it could be hard to make it considering their best player, John Wall, is out for the season with a heel injury. Washington has been really good at home this season with 15 wins in 23 games, which will give it confidence to be able to possibly pull this upset.

Key Stat

18.5. That’s the average margin of victory in the two games since Cousins has hit the court for the Warriors. He was signed in free agency and while Golden State knew it would take awhile for him to play this year after last season’s torn Achilles, it has been worth the wait.

Cousins rounds out a crazy talented starting lineup which also boasts Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. The Warriors beat the Clippers by a score of 112-94 in Cousins’ debut. He had 14 points and six rebounds in 15 minutes in that game and followed that up with eight points and nine rebounds in Golden State’s easy 130-11 win over the Lakers. Thompson made 10 consecutive three-pointers in that game.

The foes weren’t great but the Warriors showed how dangerous they are in these two games and will be tough for the Wizards to slow down.

Player To Watch

Bradley Beal -- The Warriors have a dominant collection of talent, and Washington is going to need a huge game from its best player to stay close. Beal is averaging 24.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game on the season.

He is shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three-point range. Beal will no doubt be hounded by the Golden State defense but if he can get hot from downtown it will give the Wizards a shot.

The Warriors might have to go on the road for this one, but they could play anywhere in the world right now and be the favorites. Golden State is the choice to run away from Washington and cruise to this victory. Don’t worry about any sense of a trap game because the Warriors are too talented to fall into that mindset in NBA betting lines.
