The Houston Rockets expected to be championship contenders once again in the 2018-19 season. Right now, they aren’t even in line to make the playoffs. It has been a slow start for the Rockets, who will aim to turn things around this week against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs aren’t the same dominant team of yesteryear but they have played pretty well at home. It will be interesting to see what kind of spread the oddsmakers come up with, and it will be indicative as to whether they believe the Rockets are going to turn it around or if their projections have diminished.
Both of these teams have high hopes but are not currently in the upper echelon of the West. It’s still early but this is crucial game for both sides in NBA wagering.
This NBA basketball game between the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs will be held at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas at 8 p.m ET on Friday, November 30th, 2018. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Odds Analysis
The Spurs are 10-10 on the season They have lost six of their past 10 games after a promising start. San Antonio has been comfortable at home with six victories there in nine attempts.
The Rockets are 9-10 on the season, which is a very disappointing start after finishing last year with the best record in the NBA. Houston has lost three consecutive games and is just 5-6 on the road this year.
The Rockets were a dominant scoring team a season ago but San Antonio is actually outscoring them this season, so the total could be lower than expected in NBA odds.
Injury Report
Spurs power forward Pau Gasol has missed more than half of the season with a foot injury. With the offseason trade of Kawhi Leonard he was expected to play a bigger role this season but has had trouble staying on the court. Gason is trying to make his way back but it’s unknown if he will be available for this matchup. Gasol is averaging 6.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game but should increase those numbers once he gets more playing time.
Rockets guard Chris Paul is dealing with a leg injury that has kept him out of the past two games. Houston dropped them both as he is a key cog. Paul is averaging 17.9 points and 7.7 assists per game this season. His availability for the game is also unknown.
Player To Watch
54. That was the number of points scored by Rockets small forward James Harden last time out against the Wizards. However, it didn’t equate to a win as Washington came away with a 135-131 overtime victory.
Harden is averaging 30 points per game and playing at an MVP level once again, but the supporting cast has not been as good. The team’s defense was poor against the Wizards as Washington shot 56.8 percent from the field.
It seems like Harden will have another good game against the Spurs, but it all depends if the players around him step up.
Free NBA ATS Picks
The Spurs are well-coached and balanced but the Rockets have the player who can create the most offense in Harden. Look for him to play well, and get some help from the shooters spaced around him. Houston isn’t going to finish the season with the best record but it should pick up an important road win in this one.
The Spurs don’t have the type of high-end talent anymore to compete with the league’s best teams in NBA gambling.
NBA ATS Pick: Houston Rockets 112, San Antonio Spurs 107
