The Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the NBA, but in order to truly be considered a championship contender, they have to consistently fare well against the other elite teams. Milwaukee has done that thus far and will look to add another big win when it faces off against the Houston Rockets this week.
Houston does not have as good of a record, but has the home court advantage and has played really well of late. This is going to be an interesting showdown between a pair of title hopefuls in NBA wagering.
This NBA basketball game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Odds Analysis
The Bucks have a record of 27-11 on the season, which is percentage points behind the Raptors for the best mark in the NBA. Milwaukee has been great at home but only so-so on the road with a 9-7 mark.
The Rockets have a mark of 22-16, which doesn’t sound that great but is solid after the team struggled badly to open the year. Houston has been very good at home this season with 13 victories in 18 attempts.
The Bucks lead the NBA in scoring at 117.7 points per game. The Rockets were in that upper echelon a season ago but have scored much less this year at only 110.3 points per contest. However, Houston has the ability to fill it up and this total could be high in NBA gambling.
Injury Report
Rockets shooting guard Eric Gordon has missed the past three games with a knee injury. Check to see any updates before this game to know whether or not he has a chance of playing. Gordon is in the midst of a down year, averaging 15.7 points per game but only shooting 38.1 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from three-point range.
Houston star point guard Chris Paul remains out with a hamstring injury. The complementary players are dealing with issues but the Rockets continue to win because of a dominant recent showing by James Harden.
His streak of five straight games with 40 or more points was finally broken last time out against the Blazers when Harden finished with 38. Harden was spectacular during the streak, highlighting it with a three-pointer on the road to knock off the Warriors.
Player To Watch
Giannis Antetokounmpo -- While Harden is pushing for another MVP award, he has some competition in Milwaukee’s star forward. The Greek Freak is one of the most gifted athletes in the NBA. He is averaging 26.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game, leading the team in all of those categories.
Antetokounmpo is shooting 59 percent from the field and is coming off a huge game in which he scored 43 points and hauled down 18 rebounds in a loss to the Raptors. Even though Harden is the bigger name, he has some competition for the most talented player on the court in this matchup.
Free NBA ATS Picks
The Rockets are at home and playing well of late with eight wins in their past 10 games. However, Milwaukee is just as hot and has the superior overall team. The spread should be low one way or the other, but the Bucks are the pick to both win this game and cover the spread in NBA gambling.
Keep an eye on where the total comes in as it’s possible the oddsmakers could overestimate the scoring in this matchup in NBA odds.
NBA ATS Pick: Milwaukee Bucks 116, Houston Rockets 112
