Somehow, the Denver Nuggets have caught the Golden State Warriors atop the Western Conference standings, setting up a finish that could be thrilling. The Warriors are going to be the title favorites no matter what, but the road would certainly be more difficult if they drop down to the No. 2 seed.
Both teams have games on Thursday, and those will be in the crosshairs for NBA fans. There are also some other intriguing games for bettors, some of which have playoff ramifications and others that simply look like good wagers.

Odds Analysis
The Nuggets are hitting the road on Thursday to face off against the Washington Wizards. Washington is unlikely to make the playoffs this season, as the early season-ending injury to John Wall basically torpedoed those chances. The Wizards are 22-14 at home on the year so they will certainly have a shot to win this game. Denver is the favorite and it should win, but not by much. Washington is the choice to cover this spread.
The Warriors have an interesting game as they host the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers have exceeded expectations all season and are remaining competitive despite the season-ending injury to star Victor Oladipo. Indiana is in a close fight with the Celtics for the No. 4 seed in the East and would love to pull this upset. That won’t happen, but the oddsmakers are likely going to make this spread too big. The Pacers should be able to hang around and cover.
The Phoenix Suns are one of the worst teams in the NBA and have been long out of the playoff race, but they can still affect it on Thursday. The Suns will host a Detroit Pistons team that is jockeying for position in the East. Phoenix has a woeful record of 17-55 on the season but has actually won five of its past 10 games. The Suns are putting together an encouraging finish, and it will continue in this one. Phoenix is the pick to pull off the home upset on the moneyline.
The Utah Jazz will play the second game of a back-to-back on the road against the Atlanta Hawks. It’s never easy to fly all night and then be ready to play the next day. Utah is the better team, but it has been a long season and the wear and tear will catch up to it in this one. The Hawks have not been very good at home this year but those fortunes will change in this one. Take Atlanta to pull off the upset.

The best bet centers on the reeling Sacramento Kings. They were recently in the playoff race but have fallen out of it with seven losses in their past 10 games, including a stunning defeat to the Nets last time out when they blew a 25-point fourth quarter lead.
That was bad, and it’s about to get worse. Dallas has been one of the worst teams in the NBA on the road this season, but has a star rookie in Luka Doncic. The Kings passed on him in the draft to take Marvin Bagley and Doncic will want to prove that was the wrong decision.
The Mavericks are going to be significant underdogs in this game. The safe bet is to take them to cover, which they should do with ease. There is also a better than expected chance they pull out the win, and that would pay lucratively on the moneyline. Consider rolling with Dallas as the best bet of Thursday’s action in NBA betting lines.
