A lot of the teams in contention for the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft will be in action on Tuesday night, so it’s not surprising to see a number of lopsided spreads. The New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, and Chicago Bulls are in the bottom three in their conference, and the first two teams are in full tank mode. There should be a lot of blowouts in store, but the nightcap between the Blazers and the Clippers will be a fun game.
NBA Opening Lines at BookMaker.eu
New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers (IND -12, O/U 211.5)
The Knicks are in dead last and lapping the field in the race to the bottom. They have not shied away from their goal of adding more ping pong balls to the lottery in their bid to land Zion Williamson, but they have been somewhat competitive. The Knicks have lost six in a row, but only one of their losses was by 12 or more points, so they could stay within striking distance. This is a decent Pacers team, yet they have really lost something since Victor Oladipo went down with a season-ending injury, going 10-10 in the 20 games since he was hurt.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Philadelphia 76ers (PHI -14, O/U 222.5)
Can Cleveland pull off a second straight major upset over an Eastern Conference contender after smashing Toronto by 25 points last night? Probably not. Everything came together for the Cavaliers last night. Kevin Love was a monster with 18 rebounds, and the team hit 44 percent of its three-pointers.
Playing the second half of a back-to-back is hard enough though, and it’s even more difficult when it comes on the road against a rested team. Joel Embiid could have a monster game tonight.
Milwaukee Bucks at New Orleans Pelicans (MIL -9.5, O/U 237.5)
The Pelicans have only played Anthony Davis for more than 25 minutes in a game once in the past two months, so you can no longer rely on him to play big minutes and protect the paint. With guards Jrue Holiday and E’Twaun Moore also expected to be out for this game, the Bucks are massive favorites to win in the Big Easy.
Milwaukee has been unrelenting in its bid to finish the regular season with the best record in the league, and the Bucks aren’t having the letdowns of more established clubs. It’s unlikely that happens tonight.
Los Angeles Lakers at Chicago Bulls (LAL -1, O/U 226.5)
LeBron’s first season in Los Angeles is going to go down as a disappointment, and now the Lakers have given up on the playoffs. Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram have been shut down for the season, and Tyson Chandler, Kyle Kuzma, and Lance Stephenson might not play tonight. With LeBron having his minutes limited, the suddenly interesting Bulls could get the win here.
San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks (SAS -5.5, O/U 218.5)
This line screams trap. The Spurs are peaking in order to make sure they make the playoffs for the 22nd straight season, but the Mavericks have been phenomenal at home. Dallas is 21-12 on its home court, and some of the best teams in the league have gone down in the Big D.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets (DEN -10.5, O/U 221.5)
If you’re looking for a line that can really take off, it’s this one. The oddsmakers definitely don’t think that either Andrew Wiggins or Karl-Anthony Towns will play in tonight’s game and both players are gametime decisions due to injury. If both Towns and Wiggins are playing, this line could move by four to five points.
Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Clippers (POR -2.5, O/U 231.5)
Although the Clippers are playing at home, they are an underdog after playing the Celtics last night. The Clip Show won a big game, but it was a very emotional affair, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see this team come out flat tonight.
