Season 15 of the Bachelorette is only two episodes in and it is already becoming the Luke P. show. Luke went so far as to say the L word this week and there is no question he is moving extremely fast. The question is whether or not he is moving too fast, but so far Hannah has had no problems with anything that Luke has done. That should change, as this is reality TV after all and there figures to be some surprises along the way.
Episode 2 Recap
The guys had their first group date this week with Hannah and there were some interesting moments. The group date featured a pageant with guys showing off in their swimsuits and then showing they also have a little talent. The talent portion features Luke P. telling Hannah that he is falling in love with her. It usually takes six or seven episodes before we hear someone utter the L word, but Luke did it in Episode 2. Luke said, "I’m genuinely starting to fall in love with you." Hannah warns Luke that he better be sure before he says something like that, but she also says "I asked for bold and you’re bold." Despite Luke expressing his feelings he did not get the date rose, as that honor went to Jed. The 1-on-1 date this week went to Tyler and he had what seemed like a genuine conversation with Hannah.
The second group date was a roller derby and it was basically a joke, as not many of the guys are any good at roller skating. The only one who looked like he had any talent on skates was Daron. It should be noted that Cam didn’t get an invite to the group date but that didn’t stop him from showing up anyway. He showed up at the party after the group date and the other guys did not appreciate his presence.
Cocktail Party & Rose Ceremony
Cam didn’t do himself any favors with the other guys, but Hannah didn’t seem too upset with him. Hannah was alone with Kevin and Cam crashed in and said he had something for the three of them to do. Kevin was extremely upset and ended up throwing chicken nuggets in Cam’s face.
Luke P. got more alone time with Hannah and the two traded massages. Jed tried to interrupt, but exited quickly and he seemed to handle it the right way. We know that jealously gets you nowhere on the Bachelorette. Luke also got more alone time with Hannah after the post-ceremony, as he snuck into Hannah’s interview. She was surprised, but happy and they talk for a bit and then make out for a while. Luke said that "I don’t want you to have any fear in this with me." He then goes on to tell her "You can trust me." We’ll see if those words come back to haunt him before this season is over.
Cam actually survived this week, and it was Connor J., Daron, and Matthew who went home.
Bachelorette Odds
There is no question that Luke P. is a solid favorite, but Jed is definitely in the running. Hannah said to Jed that he looked good and had amazing talent. She also said that Jed calms her in a good way. Whether that is enough to get past Luke, who she said “takes her breath a bit” is another story.
Another contender could be Tyler who had the first one-on-one date with Hannah. The two had a helicopter ride and then rode ATVs in the mud. "I have mud in places that mud should never be," Hannah said. The date didn’t have a ton of action, but Tyler did get the rose and Hannah said that she was surprised at how natural the connection with Tyler was.
Not to be left out is Peter who told Hannah that he is a hopeless romantic. Peter is a pilot and he could be a darkhorse in this race before all is said and done.
Heading into Week 3 the remaining men are Tyler C., Garrett, Devin, Connor S., Luke P., Dylan, Luke S., Mike, Peter, Kevin, Jonathan, Joey, Matteo, John Paul Jones, Grant and Cam.
