New Jersey Generals 5-1 at Tampa Bay Bandits 3-3 – 12:00 PM – USA

The New Jersey Generals opened as a 4-point favorite over the Tampa Bay Bandits with a total of 42.5. New Jersey is a -165 moneyline favorite with Tampa Bay a +145 dog.

Last week the Generals beat the Houston Gamblers 26-25 as 7-point favorites, with the game going over the total of 39.5. New Jersey got the game winning touchdown with two seconds to play on a 1-yard touchdown run by Luis Perez. New Jersey had a stunning 40:25 to 19:11 time of possession advantage. The Generals outgained the Gamblers 358-228.

Quarterback Luis Perez had a strong performance with 18/24 for 159 yards passing and a touchdown, Running back Trey Williams led the Generals in rushing with 16 rushes, 76 yards, and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Kavontae Turpin was the top New Jersey receiver with ten catches, 106 yards, and two touchdowns.

New Jersey is the top rushing team in the USFL, with 178 yards per game and 4.5 yards per attempt. The Generals are showing good balance with a ranking of second in the league for passing yardage. On the defensive side of the line, New Jersey ranks 2nd in the USFL for points allowed. The Generals lead the USFL in rushing defense.

The Tampa Bay Bandits are coming off a 35-28 loss to the Philadelphia Stars as 2.5-point favorites, with the game going over the total of 40.5. It was a frustrating end for the Bandits as they blew a first and goal on the eight and failed to convert on downs at the end of the game.

The Bandits rank 6th in the USFL for pass defense and points allowed. Tampa Bay ranks a mediocre 5th in the USFL for passing offense and 6th for rushing yardage.

New Orleans Breakers 4-2 at Michigan Panthers 1-5 – 9:00 PM – FS1

The New Orleans Breakers opened as a 6-point favorite over the Michigan Panthers with a total of 41.5. New Orleans is a -260 moneyline favorite, with Michigan a +210 dog.

Last week the New Orleans Breakers beat the Pittsburgh Maulers as 8-point favorites, with the game going over the total of 36.5.

The Breakers were slightly outgained by the Maulers 272 to 266 in total yards. Most surprisingly, Pittsburgh outgained Tampa Bay in the air 189 to 93 yards. But the Breakers held a strong 173 to 83 advantage in rushing yards.

New Orleans quarterback Kyle Sloter had a pedestrian day passing. Sloter was 13/21 for 92 yards and a lackluster 4.4 yards per attempt.

Anthony Jones had a strong day with 22 attempts, 102 yards rushing, and one touchdown.

New Orleans linebacker Vontae Diggs added eight tackles, seven solos, one sack, and one tackle for loss.

Despite being under par last week, the Breakers still lead the USFL in passing offense. New Orleans boasts the top defensive unit in the league for the fewest points allowed. New Orleans ranks 2nd in the USFL for rushing defense.

The Michigan Panthers are coming off a 33-17 loss to the Birmingham Stallions as 6.5-point dogs. The game went over the total of 37.5.

Michigan was outgained by the Stallions 289-332 in total yards. Birmingham mauled Michigan for a 175 to 91 yard advantage on the ground. The Panthers were -2 in the turnover department.

Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson continues to fight inconsistency. Patterson was 24/35 for 209 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He averaged just 6.0 yards per pass for an 81.7 rating.

Michigan running back Reggie Corbin had 71 yards rushing on 16 attempts.

Wide receiver Lance Lenoir Jr. led Michigan with nine catches, good for 82 yards but just 9.1 yards per rush.

Michigan’s defense is wearing down from the Panthers’ lack of offensive production. Michigan has fallen to 5th in the USFL for points allowed. The Panthers rank a more impressive 2nd in the league overall. Michigan has the top ranked passing defense in the USFL. Offensively Michigan ranks 2nd in the USFL for rushing but a dismal 7th for passing.

Birmingham Stallions 6-0 at Pittsburgh Maulers 1-5 – 2:00 PM – FOX

The Birmingham Stallions opened as a 12.5-point favorite over the Pittsburgh Maulers with a total of 41. Birmingham is a -630 moneyline favorite, with Pittsburgh a +450 dog.

The Birmingham Stallions are coming off a 33-17 win over the Michigan Panthers as 6.5-point favorites. The game went over the total of 37.5.

Birmingham quarterback J’Mar Smith was 12/15 for 135 yards passing and two touchdowns but averaged just 5.4 yards per pass.

Running back Bo Scarbrough led the Stallions with 105 yards rushing on 16 carries and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Osirus Mitchell led Birmingham in receiving with four receptions, 63 yards, one touchdown, and 15.8 yards per catch.

Pittsburgh did not help itself in the loss with a -2 turnover margin.

Maulers quarterback Vad Lee had an awful day going 17/34 for 198 yards, 5,8 yards per pass, with one touchdown, two interceptions, and a 53.5 QB rating.

Wide receiver Isiah Hennie led the Maulers with four catches, 71 yards, and 17.8 yards per catch.

Linebackers Dale Warren and Kyahva Tezino each had 12 tackles and seven solos for the Maulers.

Philadelphia Stars 3-3 at Houston Gamblers 1-5 – 6:00 PM – Peacock

The Philadelphia Stars opened as a 4-point favorite over the Houston Gamblers with a total of 43.5. Philadelphia is a -200 moneyline favorite with Houston a +170 dog.

The Philadelphia Stars are coming off a 35-28 win over the Tampa Bay Bandits as 2.5-point favorites. The game went over the total of 40.5.

Stars quarterback Case Cookus had a lackluster day going 11/20 for 73 yards passing with two touchdowns. He averaged a meager 3.6 yards per pass.

Houston quarterback Clayton Thorson had one of his better performances of the season. Thorson was 15/19 for 171 yards passing with three touchdowns and one interception.

Wide receiver Teo Redding was Thorson’s favorite target in the game. Redding caught three passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Linebacker Donald Payne had a monster game with 18 tackles, 11 solos, two sacks, and two tackles for loss. Defensive end Chris Odom added seven tackles, six solos, two sacks, and two tackles for loss.

Over the entirety of the season, Houston has not gotten enough production from Thorson. The Gamblers rank last in the USFL for passing offense. Houston’s defense ranks dead last for points allowed and overall. Houston ranks 8th for pass defense and 7th for rush defense.
