With major season behind us and the 3M Open the penultimate tournament on the regular season PGA schedule, we’ll have a more sedate atmosphere when the field assembles in the Minneapolis suburb of Blaine. Several players are looking to improve their status or make a late run in the FedExCup standings, including defending champion Lee Hodges, who currently ranks outside the top 70 at 73rd. Last year Hodges set a tournament scoring record at 260 and his 7-shot victory was the largest margin in tournament history. Tony Finau opened as the betting favorite and he’s hoping history repeats itself. Two years ago he overcame a five-shot final round deficit to win by three swings, and he has two additional top 10s in his last four starts. Finau has long odds for a favorite suggesting a wide-open field. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete updated list of betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Odds Analysis
Cameron Davis +4350
You can certainly get some good odds on strong players in this tournament with Davis one that stands out. His win last month at the Rocket Mortgage Classic was unexpected since he finished no better than T38 in his previous seven starts. He then followed his victory with a T26 at the Scottish Open, so his form is right. And he’s been good in this event with three top 20s in his last four starts at TPC Twin Cities.
Tony Finau +1225
Backing the favorite isn’t always the ideal move but when Finau has a price like this it’s hard to pass up. He’s been good in this tournament going 5 for 5 with a comeback win in 2022. After a MC at The Open last year Finau earned a share of seventh here, his third top 10 in five career starts. And guess what, he missed the cut at Royal Troon last week getting a head start on his prep for another strong outing at TPC Twin Cities.
Rico Hoey +9050
This is the kind of field and tournament that allows you to explore options. One rookie that’s been on a heater of late is Hoey, who found his game after five straight MCs. The floodgates opened with his T6 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He also lost in a five-man playoff earning a share of second and the alternate event ISCO Championship where a closing 69 was his worst round. Last week at the Barracuda he earned a share of eighth.
Mac Meissner +6550
Meissner has shown flashes this season with a top 10 at the Texas Open and a T5 at the Schwab. However, he’s currently enjoying his finest run of the season that includes a T20 at the John Deere Classic, T16 at the ISCO Championship and solo fourth at the Barracuda where he held the second and third round lead. He’s a player who can thrive in a tournament field like this.
J.T. Poston +3850
I’m backing Poston more for his history at TPC Twin Cities than anything he’s done recently. He finished outside the top 20 four starts before his MC at The Open, so recent form is questionable. However, his putting is among the best on Tour and his streaky play could suddenly turn with improved iron work. And he’s been able to tame the Twin Cities layout in the past with a T2 last year and a T11 in 2022.
Course: TPC Twin Cities – 7,431 yards, Par 71
Located in the Minneapolis suburb of Blaine, TPC Twin Cities received a facelift a few years ago ahead of the Tour’s arrival, stretching it out to 7,431 yards. The course was a longtime stop on the Champions Tour with that agreement expiring in 2018. Opened in 2000 it was considered by many to be one of that Tour’s top courses. Even with the additional yardage the layout is straightforward. There are a number of water hazards spread around the property, but considering the landing areas are large by Tour standards, the water becomes a non-factor. If players stay dry there is a chance to go low with the previous five winners averaging 19-under par. Hodges set tournament scoring records last year in his 7-shot victory, aiding the numbers.
