ATT Byron Nelson Matchup Odds and Picks

2018 Golf ATT Byron Nelson Matchups preview Online

This week’s AT&T Byron Nelson will look nothing like last week’s PLAYERS, as very few of the top players in the world are in the field and the course looks more like a links course than a regular PGA Tour course. We are coming off a nice 4-1 week with last week’s picks at THE PLAYERS. Let’s look at the odds and picks for this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson.

AT&T Byron Nelson Matchup Picks

Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. Trinity Forest is a course that doesn’t have trees on it at all, so forget about its name. It is more of a links course than anything else. The rough is deep and the bunkers look a lot like the pot bunkers on England courses. The greens are Bermuda and some of them are elevated.

Matt Kuchar +200 vs. Jordan Spieth

I am really surprised that Spieth is such a big favorite in this matchup. I sound like a broken record, but Spieth is overvalued. He simply isn’t making putts. He may be good enough to win without putting well, but I don’t think so. Kuchar played well in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and he said Trinity Forest has a similar feel. I will take the big plus price on Kuchar in this matchup.

Jimmy Walker -115 vs. Hideki Matsuyama

I like what I saw from Walker last week at THE PLAYERS, as he finished in a tie for 2nd. He has four straight top 25 finishes. I don’t like what I have seen of late from Matsuyama, as he doesn’t look like he has fully recovered from his injury. I will take Walker in this matchup.

Beau Hossler -115 vs. Charles Howell III

Hossler should know Trinity Forest really well, as he lives nearby and plays on a regular basis. He finished second at the Houston Open just a few weeks ago. Howell III does have five top 25 finishes in his last six starts, but I like the home advantage of Hossler, so I will take him in this matchup.

Andrew Putnam +100 vs. Seamus Power

Putnam has played well in windy conditions this season with a tie for 5th at Coralas and a tie for 8th in San Antonio. He is 30th on the PGA Tour in greens-in-regulation. He should have success this week on this course in Texas. I will take him in this matchup against Power.

Peter Uihlein +100 vs. Brandt Snedeker

Uihlein continues to play well. He had a tie for 5th two weeks ago where he led the field in scrambling. He has five top 20 finsihes on the season. Snedeker is simply overvalued, as he rarely contends. I will take Uihlein in this matchup.
