The BMW Championship is set for this week, as the FedExCup Playoffs are down to the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings with the top 30 after this tournament advancing to next week’s TOUR Championship. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and No. 2 Xander Schauffele are the top two betting choices, as each is well clear of the third choice in the betting odds, Collin Morikawa. Scheffler has had an excellent season but so has Schauffele and there is not much separating the two. Schauffele can actually pass Scheffler in the standings with a win this week. Let’s look at this week’s BMW Championship matchups. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete list of tournament odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Need to Know
Castle Pines is 8,130 yards, the longest course in PGA Tour history. That being said, it is not going to play that long because the ball flies about 10% farther in the altitude of Colorado. The course is a par 72 with three par 5’s that are more than 600 yards in length. The par-3 fourth hole is 254 yards and the 10th hole is a par-4 that measures 545 yards. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is not new, as it hosted The International from 1986-2006.
BMW Championship Matchup Picks
Wyndham Clark -124 vs. Cameron Young -106
One player who should feel at home this week is Clark who is from Denver and has played Castle Pines many times. It also helps our cause that Clark seems to have found his game again. He looked much more like a top player last week in Memphis. I have no idea what to expect from Young from week to week. He has a ton of talent and yet when push comes to shove, he folds. I’ll lay the small price and take Clark in this matchup.
Patrick Cantlay -104 vs. Tommy Fleetwood
One of my top choices to win this week is Cantlay so why not use him in a matchup? He looked really good in the last three rounds in Memphis and he has the type of game that will thrive at Castle Pines. This is more a play on Cantlay than it is against Fleetwood and the price is definitely part of the reason why.
Tony Finau -109 vs. Sungjae Im
We know that Finau can hit the ball a ton and he should do well in the thin air of Colorado. I don’t know what has happened to Im lately, as he didn’t play well at the Wyndham or at the FedEx St. Jude and those tournaments had courses that suit his game far more than this week. I’ll take Finau in this golf matchup.
Justin Thomas -123 vs. Cameron Young
Thomas is playing better of late and if he could just get his putter going, he might contend for a win. He should do well on this course that will allow him to put himself in better positions on the greens. This is also another play against Young who simply hasn’t impressed lately.
Aaron Rai -116 vs. Corey Conners -114
I am definitely impressed by what Rai has done this season. He is long off the tee and his approach game has been strong. Conners is better suited to shorter golf courses so I can’t see him having a ton of success this week in Colorado. I’ll take Rai in this matchup.
Robert MacIntyre -115 vs. Taylor Pendrith -115
Is it time to start believing in MacIntyre? He definitely has the skills to do well at Castle Pines, as he is long off the tee and a good long iron player. He is coming off a top 10 finish last week and there is no reason he can’t finish strong again this week.
Will Zalatoris -103 vs. Denny McCarthy
I don’t get the price on this matchup at all. Yes, McCarthy has played well lately, but that was on courses that were much shorter than this one. McCarthy is all about putting and he is not known for his driving. Zalatoris has a game that is much better suited for Colorado and he is playing much better of late. I’ll go with Zalatoris in this golf betting matchup.
