The FedExCup Fall schedule and 2024 season reaches its penultimate event with this week’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, contested for the sixth consecutive year at Port Royal Golf Club. Star power is definitely lacking but there will be plenty at stake as players look to secure their Tour card for next season with a high finish in the standings. Maverick McNealy and Mackenzie Hughes opened as co-betting favorites with odds suggesting a wide-open field. Camilo Villegas won for the first time in nine years with last year’s 2-shot victory over Alex Noren. It’s been a tough season for the Columbian, though, and he rests well down the odds board with a slim chance of becoming the first two-time winner of this young tournament. A more likely option is Seamus Power, who won here in his last visit in 2022. Be sure to visit BookMaker.eu for a complete, updated list of betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Odds Analysis
Wesley Bryan +5000
Last year’s champion Villegas went off around +12600 and won by two shots so you never what can happen. And that’s especially true in fields like this. Bryan isn’t as long of a shot and neither is another of my outright picks that you can see at the bottom of this section, but he has favorable odds for someone entering in solid form. He’s coming off his best finish of the fall with a T6 at the WWT Championship and he also has a T2 at a similar field event earlier this year at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
Nico Echavarria +3500
Another player getting his groove back in the fall is Echavarria, who followed up his win at the ZOZO Championship with a T6 at El Cardonal last week giving him three top 11 finishes in his last four starts. The Columbian also has a history in this event making his third start at Port Royal. He sizzled in the first two rounds of the 2022 edition eventually settling for a T23. Course knowledge and fine form make him a good pick for the outright.
Lucas Glover +3000
It’s been a fabulous fall season for Glover, who now takes his impeccable ball-striking to a course that rewards his style of play. Back-to-back podium finishes at the Black Desert and Sanderson Farms Championships were sandwiched between a T13 at the Procore Championship and most recently a T24 at El Cardonal. This is his third start at Port Royal giving him advanced knowledge of a layout that can be tricky.
Seamus Power +2000
Of any golfer near the top of the odds board Power stands out. He’s enjoyed a nice run this fall and he’s tamed the Port Royal layout with a win in 2022 preceded by a T12 in 2021. He missed last year’s event due to injury but has as much experience as anyone with the layout in what will be his fifth start. Also, four top 15s in his last five starts is impressive. The run began with a T10 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and continued most recently with a T13 at the ZOZO.
Vincent Whaley +7500
Back to back top 10s in this tournament has me backing Whaley. He’s yet to win on Tour but enters a tournament he’s had success in on nice run of form. Whaley finished four shots back tied for seventh in 2021 and although he had a better finishing score in 2023 he was further back with a share of eighth. He’s also been good in similar field events posting a runner-up at the Barracuda Championship and he has a pair of T16s in his last four starts. And like we saw with Villegas last year, looking down the odds board can pay off.
Course: Port Royal Golf Course – 6,828 yards, Par 71
The only host this tournament has ever known is back for a sixth year. A short 6,828 yards at par 71, Port Royal Golf Course in Southhampton, Bermuda, is best known for hosting the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 2009-2014. Prior to hosting this tournament, the track underwent a $14.5 million renovation. Given the distance we’re not going to see a lot of drivers this week. Port Royal can be tamed with pinpoint accuracy. There are eight par-4s that all play under 415 yards, so expect a lot of wedgies. There are hazards out there to offset the lack of distance. Every hole has at least one strategically placed bunker to stay clear of and several have multiple sand traps. Water is present on several holes that could alter a few tee shots. And finally, the coastal location is subject to wind gusts and difficult weather patterns that will be a factor.
