The last warmup before the U.S. Open takes place this week with the FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis. Most of the top players are taking the week off, but a few have decided to get the extra work in. Dustin Johnson is listed as the favorite, while Brooks Koepka is the second choice. We went 3-2 with the matchups at the Memorial Tournament last week. Let’s look at the odds and picks for this week’s FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Memorial Tournament Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. TPC Southwind is a nice U.S. Open prep, as it is 7,238 yards. It is not extremely long, so distance is not a huge factor. The greens are smaller than on most courses, so ball-strikers tend to do well and strokes gained: tee-to-green is a key stat to look at for this week when picking the matchups. Rain is possible over the weekend, but wind is not expected to be a factor.
Brooks Koepka -125 vs. Henrik Stenson
Koepka loves to place at TPC Southwind, as he has a tie for 2nd and a tie for 3rd and a scoring average of 68.56 since 2014. Stenson has not played this event since he tied for 13th in 2012. I will take Koepka in this matchup.
Tony Finau -150 vs. Charl Schwartzel
Finau is making his tournament debut. He is 18th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green. He is coming off a tie for 13th at the Memorial. Schwartzel did tie for 2nd in this event last year but he is coming off a missed cut last week. I will take Finau in this one.
Luke List -120 vs. Kiradech Aphibarnrat
List is third on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green. He was one shot off the lead last year in this event before falling to a tie for 18th. Aphibarnrat tied for 13th last week and it was his first top 25 on the PGA Tour since 2016. I like List in this matchup.
Billy Horshel -105 vs. Byeong Hun An
Horschel has been really good at TPC Southwind with a tie for 10th, a tie for 6th, a tie for 8th and a tie for 4th. I liked what An did last week, but I think there is a good chance he has a letdown after losing in the playoff. I will take Horschel in this one.
Peter Uihlein -115 vs. Joaquin Niemann
I also think Niemann could have a letdown this week. He has played really well in limited action this season, but I think last week’s failure might stick with him for a while. Uihlein continues to play well and he ranks in the Top 20 on the PGA Tour in par-4 and par-5 scoring. I will take Uihlein in this matchup.
