Only four of the world’s top 20 players are in the field for this week’s FedEx St. Jude Classic because next week is the U.S. Open. Dustin Johnson headlines this week’s field and he is the betting favorite at odds of +600. The only other players listed at odds of less than +2500 are Brooks Koepka, Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson. Let’s look at the odds and predictions for the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Odds Analysis
Dustin Johnson +600
Johnson has not played up to his capabilities this season but there were signs last week he could be rounding into form. He finished in a tie for 8th and he had two good rounds, shooting 66 and 67. The field this week is not that strong, so if DJ has three good rounds it might be enough for him to win.
Brooks Koepka +1000
Koepka would probably like to take this week off, as he is the defending U.S. Open champion but he needs the work. He will be making just his fourth start since his 16-week layoff to let his wrist heal. He played well two weeks ago in Fort Worth and he is capable of contending this week.
Henrik Stenson +1200
There is no denying the talent of Stenson, as he has the game to win anytime, anywhere. The problem is he doesn’t win often enough to back him at these low odds. His best finish this season is a second.
Phil Mickelson +1200
I think you have to put Mickelson in the mix this week as a serious contender. He has finished 11th or better the last five times he has played this tournament. He has six top 6 finishes this season, so he is playing well.
Billy Horschel +2500
The first of my longshots this week is Horschel who has four top 25 finishes in his last five events including a win in New Orleans. He has finished in the top 10 in this event in his last four attempts.
Tony Finau +2500
One player who can stay with DJ in terms of driving distance is Finau. It would not be a surprise to see Finau in contention this week and he is listed at attractive odds of +2500.
Luke List +4000
Another player who can drive with Johnson is List, who is 3rd on the PGA Tour in driving distance this season. It should only be a matter of time before List wins and it might come this week against a field that is not nearly as strong as some other weeks of the season.
Course: TPC Southwind is a par 70 that measures 7,244 yards. It is hosting the St. Jude Classic for the 30th time. The course features natural lakes, streams and ponds just southeast of Memphis, Tennessee. The most famous hole on the course is the par-3 11th that has a small island green. Daniel Berger has won this event the past two years and is looking to become just the sixth player in the last 40 years to win a PGA Tour event in three straight seasons.
