Fortinet Championship Golf Odds - Bet on PGA Tour

Fortinet Championship Golf Odds

There is no offseason on the PGA Tour. Just a few weeks after the season-ending TOUR Championship, the 2022-23 season gets underway from California wine country with the Fortinet Championship taking place at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa. The first event of the new season has an impressive list of Tour veterans and a good supply of recent Korn Ferry Tour graduates stocking the field. With the FedExCup playoff cutoff down to the top-70 this season every point along the way is valuable. Max Homa got his season started right with a win here last year, one of two on the season qualifying him for the playoffs for the first time. Homa and Corey Connors are right behind betting favorite Hideki Matsuyama on the opening odds board. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete updated list of betting odds when you’re ready to make a wager.

Odds Analysis

Max Homa +1600

There are some factors to consider when backing the defending champ, but I doubt Homa would have it any other way. There is of course the returning champ thing and the obligations that come with that on top of getting prepped for the Presidents Cup and a new addition to the family. Playing golf in wine country is probably the only thing that Homa’s looking forward to. He showed he can handle the course with a pair 65s last year to outlast Maverick McNealy and Homa is clearly one of the top players in the field.

Taylor Montgomery +4500

Several Korn Ferry Tour grads are making a start with Montgomery one that stands out. He’s still searching for that first pro victory after a number of close calls. Over the last two KFT seasons Montgomery has seven podium finishes while putting together a complete game. He’s long and accurate off the tee with improved putting stats to match. He’s been a birdie machine on the KFT and Silverado can yield plenty of those.

Brendan Steele +5000

Homa won last year’s edition with a price in the same range as Steele. I know that means absolutely nothing, but it’s something worth noting since the favorites don’t always emerge victorious. Few have had as much success at Silverado as Steele making him an intriguing pick at his price. He won back to back in 2016 and 2017 and has never missed a cut. However, outside his two wins he hasn’t placed among the top-15 making him a nice option in alternate markets.

Sahith Theegala +2800

The theme of California products winning here continued last year with Homa, and one guy on the verge of breaking through is Theegala. A standout at Pepperdine, Theegala impressed during his first season making a run for Rookie of the Year. Alas, he was overshadowed by Cameron Young, but Theegala looks to build off a campaign that saw him play the weekend in 12 of his last 13 starts with a trio of top-10s included.

Gary Woodland +6600

It probably isn’t a bad thing to look at a former major champion in the price range Woodland finds himself in. Following an up and down last season getting a clean slate could be exactly what the 2018 U.S. Open champ needs to get back in the swing of things. There signs that the game is where it needs to be to get back in the winner’s circle. In a five-start stretch leading up to the 2022 Masters, Woodland had a pair of T5s and a T8.

Course: Silverado Resort and Spa – 7,123 yards, Par 72

The North Course at Silverado has hosted since the tournament moved to Napa in 2015. The layout isn’t particularly long at less than 7,200 yards, and it isn’t difficult. There is no style that fits Silverado better than others. Some players will try and hit the snot out of the ball to gain an advantage on approach. Others will club down to navigate around the tree-lined fairways and stay out of the rough. Getting off line from the tee box isn’t a major problem with the rough not very penal. Winning scores here ranged between -14 and -21, proving that solid play in every area can carry you to the weekend. We can expect to see some low rounds and low scores with the weather cooperating.
