Genesis Scottish Open Golf Odds - Bet on PGA Tour

Genesis Scottish Open Golf Odds

The Genesis Scottish Open has been played on the DP World Tour since the early 1970s. Back then and until recently the circuit was referred to as the European Tour. However, this week’s playing will be the first as a co-sanctioned event along with the PGA Tour helping attract some of the biggest names in the sport as preparation for the season’s final major. The 156-player field is nearly split in half between golfers from the two Tours making it the strongest field in non-major DP World Tour history. The top of the odds board actually looks like a major with Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas opening as co-betting favorites. Recent winner Xander Schauffele and Masters champ Scottie Scheffler round out the top four on the board all with odds shorter than 20/1. A stronger field has defending champ Min Woo Lee well down the board. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete updated list of betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Odds Analysis

Tommy Fleetwood +6000

The good thing about the Tour is that you have a chance to redeem yourself every week. And Fleetwood is still searching for redemption. He was playing well earning a T14 at the Masters and a T5 at the PGA Championship followed by a top-10 at the European Open before missing the cut at the U.S. Open. This is a good opportunity for him to get back in the swing of things in a tournament and on a course he’s performed well. He probably should have won here in 2020 eventually losing in a playoff. He’s a strong links player and worth a look at his price.

Ryan Fox +4000

In case you haven’t been paying attention there are some wonderful golfers on the DP Tour who are more than capable of beating guys who compete across the pond. Fox is on a heater since winning the Ras al Khaimah Classic in February with four additional podium finishes among his eight top-15s in his last 10 starts. His two worst finishes were at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open, but now that he’s playing a home game so to speak, the outcome could be different.

Collin Morikawa +2200

Elite players usually prevail in events with an elite field, and Morikawa qualifies as elite. He didn’t play well here last year grabbing a share of 71st and admittedly had little experience playing links golf. I guess he’s a quick learner since he went on to win The Open. He had a nice run that included seven top-5s ending with solo fifth at the Masters. He appeared to get his swagger back at the U.S. Open finishing T5 after placing outside the top-25 in four starts with a MC in another. We’ll see if he retained any of his links knowledge.

Justin Rose +6000

There is an art to playing links courses and Rose has shown over the years he has the ability to handle the layouts and the elements. He last played the Scottish Open in 2019 bagging a T9 and he won this thing, albeit on a different course, in 2014. He’s been solid if not spectacular on the lead in with three top-15s in his last five starts, including a T4 in Canada a few weeks ago. An experienced links player who is good around the greens at a nice price, I’ll drop a few bills on Rose for the outright.

Will Zalatoris +3000

You can’t get any closer to winning than Zalatoris has recently. Earning a T2 at the U.S. Open was his second runner-up in four starts and third this season. And he’s finished among the top six each of the last six times he made the cut. And it wasn’t like he stunk up the joint the times he didn’t play through. He was a respectable T26 here last year but it’s safe to say Z-man is playing with a lot of confidence and that maiden W appears to be real close.

Course: The Renaissance Club – 7,293 yards, Par 71

Serving as host for a fourth straight tournament, the Renaissance Club is a typical links course and a good prep for The Open next week. There wasn’t much work done when the course was completed in 2008. It was basically carved into the existing landscape, which is typical of links-style courses around these parts. And like with all links courses, wind can and likely will be a factor. Stretching to 7,293 yards at par 71, the layout isn’t as wide open as some links layouts giving the field something to think about. Two previous editions at The Renaissance played in the summer produced an average winning score of 20-under with all three going to a playoff.
