Not only can you bet on who you think will win the PGA Championship which begins on Thursday, you can also bet the head-to-head matchups and you can bet the props. If you think there will be a hole-in-one this week at the PGA there are odds on that. If you think there will be a playoff you can get +300 on that prop. You can also bet on the winning score, winning margin, top American, top European and more. Let’s look at some of the PGA Championship props and predictions.
Bet the PGA Championship at BookMaker.eu
PGA Championship Hole-In-One
Yes -115
No -115
It is always more fun to cheer for a Hole-In-One than it is to cheer against it. This is truly a toss-up, but I would probably lean a little bit to the Yes on this prop simply because the greens are soft and players should put up lower scores. But this prop is pretty much a coin flip as the odd would suggest.
PGA Championship Playoff
Yes +300
No -400
A playoff in the PGA Championship would be exciting, but it hasn’t happened since 2011. It should be noted, however, that the last time Bellerive hosted the PGA was in 1992 and it ended in a playoff. There is very little value in taking the No at odds of -400, so if you are going to play this prop you would probably want to choose Yes.
Winning 72 hole score 271
Over +200
Under -260
If you believe the latest weather reports and what the players are saying, scoring should be excellent this week at Bellerive. The course is expected to play really soft the first two days and scoring should be excellent. It seems almost a given that the winning 72 hole score is going to be under 271. Just look at the next prop and what is expected to be the lowest scoring round and it gives you an idea that the winner of this year’s PGA is going to shoot at least 10-under par.
Lowest Round Score 63
Over -150
Under +120
Based on the previous prop it would seem like a good bet to take this prop under, but I would feel better about it if we could get under 64. To win this prop we will have to have someone shoot a 62. It could very well happen in one of the first two rounds and going under 63 is the only way I would play this prop.
Winning Margin
Playoff +300
1 Stroke +240
2 Strokes +350
3 Strokes +550
4 Strokes +750
5 Strokes +1250
6 Strokes +2550
7 Strokes +3550
8 Strokes +2050
The PGA Championship is normally close, as since 1995 the winning margin has been two strokes or less 18 times. Only five times has the winning margin been three shots or more. In six of the last eight years the winning margin has been two shots or less. The only concern with betting a playoff, a one shot win or a two shot win is that when scoring is low, winning margins tend to be higher.
Where Will the Winner Come From?
USA -165
Europe +185
Rest of the World +500
Forget about the Rest of the World, as the only player worth considering is Jason Day. It all comes down to the USA vs. the World. The U.S. would seem to have a better chance, especially with Dustin Johnson listed as the favorite. The problem with taking the U.S. is that there is very little value with the odds at almost 2-1.
Don’t forget that you can also bet a number of other props on the board including Top American, Top European and more.
