Justin Thomas leads the field for this week’s CIMB Classic in Malaysia. Most of the world’s top players are taking this week off, so Thomas is the clear favorite. If you want to take a big price and go against Thomas, you can choose to take Ryan Moore or Billy Horschel against Thomas. Horschel comes into this event playing well and Moore has won this tournament twice. Let’s look at the odds and matchups for this week’s CIMB Classic.

CIMB Classic Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. TPC Kuala Lumpur is an easy course, so scores are going to be good. We will want to look for players in these matchups who rank high in birdie average and players who rank highly in putting statistics. Pat Perez will be looking to join Thomas and Moore as a two-time champion of this event.
Brandt Snedeker -115 vs. Louis Oosthuizen
My favorite play this week is Snedeker, as he has four top 10 finishes in his last eight starts. We know that to win at Kuala Lumpur you need to go low and Snedeker proved at Sedgefield that he can go low, as he shot 59. I think he is the clear choice in this matchup against Oosthuizen, so I will lay the small price.
Xander Schauffele -115 vs. Marc Leishman
I give Schauffele a chance to contend for the win this week. He did well in the FedExCup playoffs with a tie for 3rd and a tie for 7th. He tied for 3rd in this event a year ago. Leishman did not have a good second half of the season and I don’t know that he turns the corner right away. I will take Schauffele in this matchup.
Rafa Cabrera-Bello -115 vs. Byeong Hun An
We want players who can go low and Cabrera-Bello is an excellent tee-to-green player and he is a very good scorer. He has played this event twice and had tied for 10th each time. His scoring average is 68.75. I will lay the small price and take Cabrera-Bello in this matchup.
Keegan Bradley -110 vs. Gary Woodland
I think both Bradley and Woodland could do well this week, but I give the edge to Bradley, as he has been excellent in his career at TPC Kuala Lumpur where he has three top 10 finishes. He finished second in this event a year ago. Woodland has finished second in this event twice in 2014 and 2015. I will take Bradley at the short price in this matchup.
