The Masters hangover won’t prevent eight of the top 20 golfers in the world rankings from making the trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina for a date in this week’s RBC Heritage, hosted by the Harbour Town Golf Links. Tiger Woods is off sporting his new green jacket, but Masters runners-up Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele are set to compete and will do as favorites on the odds board at BookMaker.eu. Johnson, ranked No. 2 in the OWGR poll, is the betting favorite at +730 followed by Francesco Molinari ( +1291 ) and Schauffele ( +1777 ).

Odds Analysis
Dustin Johnson +730
He’s the betting favorite because he’s the top-ranked golfer in the field, but I have to wonder just how motivated DJ is going to be after falling by a stroke at last week’s Masters. This event was added to his schedule last year when he joined Team RBC. He managed to finish tied for 16th and spoke highly of the course. Plus, DJ is from this neck of the woods with Harbour Town being a course he likely grew up playing. Still, the narrow fairways limit his driving advantage, bringing him back to the field. And with his motivation in question, I think there are better value picks.
Jordan Spieth +2398
It started off as a case of ‘here we go again’ at last week’s Masters with Spieth on the verge of missing the cut after opening with a 75. But he regrouped and played like the world-class player he is going 8-under over the final 54 holes while scoring below par in each round. And he returns to another course where he’s had success, which should make him feel right at home. Spieth hasn’t played here since 2015, but he was T9, T12 and T11 in his three previous showings, coupled with a renewed confidence in his game it might time for Spieth to get back in the winner’s circle.
Tommy Fleetwood +2663
Fleetwood is the target for anyone looking for a big payout. Splitting time between the European and PGA Tours doesn’t get him a lot of attention, and neither does the fact that he has yet to win on the PGA side. But Fleetwood does have five international titles to his name and finished as runner-up at last year’s U.S. Open. He also has top 5s at the Arnold Palmer Invite and THE PLAYERS, proving he can compete in fields with top-end talent. Toss in positive stats that correlate well to Harbour Town and Fleetwood is a strong choice to grab his first PGA Tour title and give you a nice return.
Branden Grace +4575
Recent form has Grace with long odds to win this event. But given his history at Harbour Town and the fact the South African has a boat load of talent don’t be scared off by the +4575. Grace has just one top 25 finish in his last 16 PGA Tour starts, however, a return to the layout that’s yielded him a T7, WIN, and T11 in three visits could be the magic elixir.
Course: Harbour Town Golf Links – 7,099 yards, Par 71
Consistently ranked among one of the top courses in America, Harbour Town is also up there as one of the layouts the PGA Tour pros play on a yearly basis. While the track is short by Tour standards and a number of players in the field have attacked the course in the past, it’s still a difficult test even for the best golfers. Accuracy and positioning off the tee are paramount at Harbour Town with its narrow corridors and tree-lined fairways. Tee shots that land in the fairway could still be obstructed by overhanging trees, so luck is always important here. Another test is hitting the greens, which are smallest targets on Tour. Don’t expect a lot of eagles and the birdie rate is low on this layout making par a good friend of the field.
