The FedExCup Champion will be determined this week, with the TOUR Championship taking place in Atlanta. Justin Rose is listed as a slight favorite, but a number of players could legitimately win the tournament and the top five players in the FedExCup standings can win the FedExCup title by winning this event. I am coming off a 2-2 week with the matchups a couple of weeks ago at the BMW Championship. Let’s look at the odds and matchups for this week’s TOUR Championship.

TOUR Championship Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. Hitting fairways helps in this event, but hitting greens and putting is more important. Last year the field averaged 69.383, the lowest since the course was renovated in 2007.
Justin Rose -145 vs. Tiger Woods
Rose is ranked No. 1 in the world and he has been excellent in his career at East Lake with two runner-up finishes. As I say nearly every week, I think Tiger will win again, but I don’t think it will be against a full field of great players. Rose is simply the better player and we get him at a cheap price in this matchup.
Justin Thomas +105 vs. Dustin Johnson
I think Thomas is going to have a chance to win this week and become the first player to ever win back-to-back FedExCup titles. He has shot under par in 19 of his last 20 PGA Tour rounds. He has averaged 68.00 in eight rounds at East Lake. Johnson has all of the talent in the world, but he hasn’t played as well lately as he did earlier in the year.
Keegan Bradley -125 vs. Phil Mickelson
Bradley comes in with more momentum, as he won at Aronimink. He has no top ten in three previous tries in this event, but I am riding the hot hand. Mickelson has no top ten finishes in any event since May. I will take Bradley in this matchup.
Paul Casey -115 vs. Patrick Reed
Casey has qualified for the TOUR Championship four times in his career and has finished in a tie for 5th or better each time. His scoring average at East Lake is 68.31. Reed has never had a top ten finish in four tries at East Lake. I will take Casey in this matchup.
