Quicken Loans National Matchup Odds and Picks

Very few of the top players in the world are in the field for this week’s Quicken Loans National, so perhaps this will be the best chance for Tiger Woods to get back into the winner’s circle. Tiger is the second betting choice to win this week behind Rickie Fowler. We are coming off a tough week with the matchups at the Travelers Championship, so we’ll look to bounce back with a big week. Let’s look at the odds and picks for this week’s Quicken Loans National.

Quicken Loans National Matchup Picks

Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. This will be the second straight season that PC Potomac at Avenel Farm will host this event. The course was tough last season, as it was the highest among all non-majors on the PGA Tour. Troy Merritt said that the course doesn’t favor a long or short hitter but a player who hits it straight and makes a lot of pars. Kyle Stanley won this event a year ago and led the field in strokes gained: off-the-tee and greens in regulation.

Rickie Fowler -190 vs. Marc Leishman

I know the price is high, but Leishman is simply not playing well right now. He has had success in this event, but his form is so bad I don’t think it matters. Fowler tied for this in this event a year ago and he has eight top 20 finishes in 14 starts this season.

Kevin Streelman -115 vs. Jamie Lovemark

One of my longshots to contend this week for the win is Streelman and we get him at a short price in this matchup against Lovemark. I will take Streelman in this one.

Francesco Molinari -145 vs. J.B. Holmes

I think this course should suit Molinari, as he is accurate off the tee and very strong in GIR. Holmes can be all over the place and I just don’t think he will do well on this course. I will lay the price and take Molinari in this matchup.

Kyle Stanley -125 vs. J.B. Holmes

I am going against Holmes again in this matchup. Stanley is the defending champion and you can make a case he comes in playing better than he did a year ago. He has three top 15 finishes in his last five starts.

David Lingmerth -105 vs. Si Woo Kim

Lingmerth has done well on courses like this one, as he won at the Memorial and he has six other top 10 finishes at the Bridgestone, Greenbrier and the Quicken Loans National. Lingmerth also won at TPC Potomac in 2012 on the Web.com Tour. I like him in this matchup against Kim.
