Elevated to Signature Event status by the PGA Tour ahead of last year’s playing, the RBC Heritage has been able to attract a strong field the week after the first major of the season. With a majority of players making the short trip to Hilton Head, outright betting favorite Scottie Scheffler won’t even have time to take off the green jacket he just won for the second time in three years. Rory McIlroy will attempt to get his season moving in the right direction as he pays a visit to Harbour Town Golf Club after withdrawing from last year’s tournament. Matthew Fitzpatrick is back to defend the title he won last year in a playoff over Jordan Spieth, who was the titlist in 2022. The loaded field offers up several intriguing matchups which to wager on. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete list of matchup betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Need to Know
Serving as host every year since the tournament’s inception in 1969, Harbour Town Golf Links isn’t considered long by Tour standards at just over 7,200 yards, and that includes the addition of more length ahead of this edition. But it is tricky with tree-lined fairways playing havoc on missed tee shots, even ones that land in the fairway. Accuracy will be tested on approach with the greens some of the smallest on Tour. Located on the coast, wind will likely be a factor making things even more difficult. Frequently named as one of the best courses, Harbour Town has changed little over the years giving players a chance to adapt. Three of the five lowest winning to-par scores were recorded in the last four years with Webb Simpson carding the lowest in 2020. Fitzpatrick logged the fifth-best winning score at 17-under last year. Also, half of the previous 14 tournaments required a playoff, including the last two.
RBC Heritage Matchup Picks
Matthew Fitzpatrick +102 vs. Patrick Cantlay
A solid resume at Harbour Town and a nice run of form entering the week makes Fitzpatrick a worthwhile pick in this matchup. The fact that he’s at plus odds makes the decision even easier. He beat Spieth in a playoff last year giving him four top 15 finishes in his last six starts at the venue. He also enters off a T22 at the Masters that followed a solo fifth and T10 in his previous two starts.
Sahith Theegala -108 vs. Si Woo Kim
He wasn’t as sharp as we’ve seen him in other tournaments but at least Theegala was consistent at Augusta. This is the perfect time for him to recapture the momentum gained earlier in the season when he earned three top 10s in a four-start span. The Pepperdine product has just one MC this season, that coming in Hawai’i in January, and his strong all-encompassing game should play well on a course that rewards accuracy and precision.
Ludvig Aberg +110 vs. Xander Schauffele
I have a hard time going against Schauffele, but Aberg’s play and his price make it easier. Aberg was runner-up at the Masters finishing three-shots ahead of the rest of the field. And he made his first ever twirl around Augusta National seamlessly. This is his first trip to Harbour Town, but I don’t think he’ll be bothered by the unknown.
Cameron Davis +116 vs. Chris Kirk
Maybe the betting markets haven’t caught up since Davis is at plus odds in this matchup. He has a history at Harbour Town that includes two top 10s among three top 25s over the last three years. He flaunted the form in Augusta that allowed him to finish so highly in South Carolina, navigating around a difficult track to earn a share of 12th. I think we can expect more of the same.
Cameron Young -116 vs. Wyndham Clark
I can’t overlook Young anymore, especially after he wowed the crowd at Augusta National with his second straight top 10 and fourth in his last seven starts. His T9 at the Masters came on the heels of a runner-up at the Valspar Championship and less than a month after his T4 at the Cognizant Classic. His first visit to Harbour Town in 2022 resulted in a T3 and he checks all the boxes.
