One of the most exciting golf tournaments of the year begins on Thursday, as the U.S. Open takes place at Shinnecock Hills in New York. U.S. Open Prop Picks
I like two of the last three props listed. The Winning Score prop has 274 and under at +135 and 275-277 at +185. I can’t see the winning score being anything higher than three under par, so that means one of those two props at plus money will win. I will take a little more on the 274 and Under at +135 and also play the 275-277 at +185. The only way we don’t come out ahead is if the winning score is high and it seems unlikely considering Shinnecock is expected to play easier than it did in 2004 when the winning score was 4-under.
I also like the number of players to finish under par prop. If the scoring is good, and all early reports have it expected to be good, then I like the 8 and Over at +125 on number of players finishing under par. There are so many good players who hit the ball a ton and distance is the big factor at Shinnecock, as it is playing nearly 7,500 yards. We could also do what we did on the previous prop and play both the 4-7 at +215 for a little bit and the 8 and Over at +125 for more. And again, the only way we lose is if the course plays very difficult and three or fewer players finish under par.
