The surprise and defending Stanley Cup champions face the ultimate irony this year. The Blues are likely to be a better team than the one that totaled 99 points last year but that may not be reflected in the standings. The defending Eastern Conference champions overcame a slow start to end up with 107 points and made it all the way to game seven of the Stanley Cup Final where the faltered against the Blues. While the Bruins have a solid core, their weaknesses were exposed by St. Louis. This is a very good but not great team that could prove to be overlays more often than not.
Florida Panthers 96.5 Points (-110 over/-110 under)
This one looks like a reach. The public is all over the Panthers because of the hiring of former Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship coach Joel Quenneville and former Columbus Blue Jackets number one goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky. Certainly, the Cats should be improved but they are going to need to gel. Just as concerning is the bad history that this team is trying to overcome.
