The tables were turned in short order. After the Boston Bruins dominant 4-2 win in game one of the Stanley Cup Final there were considerable questions about the Blues ability to keep pace in the best of seven series. And while there is usually an element of overreaction to any one game of a playoff series it was over the top after Boston’s win in the opener. But in game two it was the Blues that were superior, far more so than the final score indicated. St. Louis scored a 3-2 win in game two as they evened the series and stole home ice advantage from the Bruins. Now the series heads to St. Louis for games three and four.

Odds Analysis
In a Stanley Cup Final series there is considerable live betting ebb and flow in which public reactions are much more pronounced. For example, the Bruins were favored in this series at the start. And after Boston’s game one win the price on them skyrocketed for both the second game and the series price. But now the live betting dynamics have been flipped. The story and public reaction is now that St. Louis has tremendous momentum and home ice for the next two games. But should Boston start off strong at Enterprise Center live betting action will of course flow back to them. Reactions and overreactions. This will certainly be the live betting case for game three.
Current Form
This best of seven series is tied at one game apiece. Game four will take place Monday at St. Louis. Game five will return to Boston for next Thursday. If necessary, game six will be back at St. Louis with a seventh game at Boston.
Matchup Metrics
Boston is the second highest scoring team in the playoffs so far and ranks best for goals against this post season. By contrast the Blues rank fourth in the NHL playoffs for goal scoring and fifth for goals allowed. Boston also boasts the top ranked power play in the post season while ranking fourth for penalty killing. Special teams were the one area of concern for the Blues in this series.
Between the Pipes
Boston goalie Tuukka Rask has been at the top of all polls as the leading candidate for the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff most valuable player. Rask has a playoff save percentage of .939 with a 1.91 goals against average and two shutouts. However, Rask has dropped in the Stanley Cup Final to a save percentage of .912 with a 2.43 goals against average. Rask has always felt pressure after serving as backup to Tim Thomas when the Bruins won the 2011 Stanley Cup. He desperately wants his own Cup and legacy and may be feeling the strain to get it.
St. Louis rookie Jordan Binnington has shown the nerves and poise of a 10-year veteran in the Stanley Cup Final. Binnington has a save percentage in this series of .917 with a 2.46 goals against average. Overall in the post season Binnington has a .915 save percentage with a 2.37 goals against average.
