The San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights will be having a playoff rematch from last year in which the then first year Vegas expansion team won impressively in six games. San Jose was one of the most impressive teams in the first few months of the regular season but faded badly down the stretch. By contrast the Golden Knights have been solid although not quite as consistently good as last year. Of major concern for the Golden Knights is the lower body issues of goaltender Marc Andre Fleury that have kept him out of the lineup off and on in the final weeks of the regular season. It’s mandatory that Fleury is at 100% for Vegas to get past San Jose in their playoff series.

Odds Analysis
The Vegas Golden Knights quickly caught the imagination of the hockey betting community and even drew considerable casual money as their playoff run advanced last spring. They have quickly become one of the most popular teams in the NHL and that will have a big affect on the live betting in this series. Also problematic was the collapse of the Sharks in the final days of the season.
Series Schedule
This best of seven series will open in San Jose with games one and two. Game one is set for Wednesday, April 10 at 10:30 p.m. ET with coverage on NBCSN. Game four is slated for Tuesday, April 16 at 10:30 p.m. ET with coverage on NBCSN. If necessary, game five will be in San Jose on Thursday, April 18. A game six would be in Vegas on Sunday, April 21. Vegas Golden Knights Record Metrics
With goaltender Marc Andre Fleury battling lower body issues the Golden Knights faded down the stretch to lose seven out of their final eight games with a final record of 43-32-5-2 with 37 of their 82 games going over the total. Vegas was 24-12-3-2 at home and went 19-20-2 on the road. The Golden Knights ranked 13th in the NHL for goal scoring but 25th for the power play. On the back end VGK finished 10th for goals against and 12th for the penalty kill.
San Jose Sharks Record and Metrics
After a bad stretch of seven losses in eight games the Sharks perked up with two wins to end the season with a final record of 46-27-6-3 as only 33 of their 82 games went under the total. San Jose was 25-11-3-2 at home while going 21-16-3-1 on the road. The Sharks finished third in the NHL for goal scoring and sixth for the power play. On the back end, San Jose finished 21st for goals against and 15th for the penalty kill.
Free NHL Live Betting Odds Pick
Perhaps the most important factor of all in this matchup is the status of Vegas goaltender Marc Andre Fleury. If he is not 100% the Golden Knights don’t have much of a chance. Equally worrisome for the Sharks is their weak defensive play. At the end the Sharks secondary scoring is deeper than what Vegas has.
