At the onset of the Stanley Cup Final the Boston Bruins were understandable favorites. Boston was deep and powerful with four interchangeable rolling lines. Additionally, the Bruins have vast playoff experience. Most important of all goaltender Tuukka Rask had never looked better. By contrast the St. Louis Blues rose from worst to first in the Western Conference. And while their climb was respected by all they did not have the tradition of success that the Bruins enjoyed. St. Louis was considered a good team but Boston was labeled as great. However, their Stanley Cup Final series is now dead even at two wins apiece. And the mighty Bruins are starting to feel the injury bug at the worst possible time.

Odds Analysis
Sharps are justifiably concerned about Boston with its injuries and inability to kill off the Blues. They are also seeing the Blues as a team that is incredibly difficult to kill off. As a result, they will view the underdog price and consider strong value for a resilient and capable team getting plus money. More casual gamblers will cling to the Boston marquee brand as a highly popular Original Six team. Home ice will also draw plenty of casual money. Live betting ebb and flow could be as volatile as ever in this series.
Stanley Cup Final Current Form
The winner of this fifth game will be only one win away from Stanley Cup immortality. This means the Blues have the opportunity to come home for game six with a shot at clinching the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history on home ice Sunday night. If necessary, a deciding seventh game will be at Boston on next Wednesday.
Captain Chara Status in Doubt
In the Blues 4-2 home win in game four Boston defenseman and team captain Zdeno Chara suffered an ugly puck to the face off a deflected shot that kept him out of play for the second half of the game. Chara is questionable with day to day status for game five. This only serves to further deplete the Boston blue line in which Matt Grzelcyk is also questionable with a concussion. The Blues have grinded down all of their playoff opponents so far and Boston is proving to be no exception.
More Disciplined Play
The Blues were likely caught up in the moment last Saturday night in a 7-2 game three home loss. St. Louis lacked structure and discipline in the loss and took several bad penalties. That was not at all the case in game four. Right from the start the Blues played with polish and organization. In fact, St. Louis carried the play much of the night in dominant fashion.
Matchup Vs. Odds
St. Louis has been at their best wagering value as a playoff road team. The Blues have paid in eight of their last 10 as a post season visitor. Only two of their last eight away games in post season have gone under the total. In the same way Boston has been a good bet at home in the playoffs. The Bruins have gotten the cash in six of their last eight post season games at TD Garden. Four of their last five in that situation have gone over the total. The visitor is 2-2 in this series thus far.
