If for nothing else give the National Hockey League credit for the most unique All-Star Game format in all of professional sports. Realizing that the old format of Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference had grown stale the NHL blew it all up and started over three years ago with a new and exciting tournament format. Each of its four divisions would comprise an All-Star Team with a four-team tournament played in a single evening to follow. The results have proven to be a much-improved product for all concerned. This year the All-Star Game takes place at the famed “Shark Tank” in San Jose, California, home of the San Jose Sharks.

Odds Analysis
Betting action on the NHL All Star Game is often in regards to over the total rather than a particular side. However, in recent seasons the games have had less ridiculous scores and more competitive play. There is also a lot of live betting activity on players such as Sidney Crosby of the Metropolitan Division or Connor McDavid of the Pacific Division. NHL All Star Game live betting is quite fluid and exciting with many additional twists not seen in a regular game.
Current Format
The two Western Conference divisions will meet in the first game as the Central Division All Stars will face the Pacific Division All Stars. That will be followed by the two Eastern Conference teams as the Metropolitan Division All Stars will face the Atlantic Division All Stars. The winning teams will then face off to decide the 2019 NHL All Star Game winner!
Central Division
Certainly, the Central Division will have plenty of star power led by Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche and Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks. Goaltender Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators is one of the best in the game.
Pacific Division
Connor McDavid has proven the worth of his being the top pick of the 2015 NHL Draft and one of the most coveted players in a generation. McDavid is captain of the Edmonton Oilers and will serve in that same capacity with the Pacific Division All Star team. Calgary Flames star Johnny Gaudreau is a top candidate for the Hart Trophy as NHL Most Valuable Player. And home town hero Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks would love nothing more than to light the lamp on home ice. Marc Andre Fleury of the Vegas Golden Knights offers top tier goaltending.
Metropolitan Division
While Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is not attending the All-Star Game his arch rival and nemesis Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins will be on hand to lead the Metropolitan Division. Popular veteran goaltender Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers is sure to get a rousing ovation and provide world class netminding. The defense corps is deep with John Carlson of the Caps and Seth Jones of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Atlantic Division
There will be plenty of firepower supplied on the Atlantic Division team led by Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Jack Eichel of the Buffalo Sabres. Additional threats come from Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning and John Tavares of the Leafs. David Pastrnak of the Boston Bruins is always a threat to light the lamp as well.
Free NHL Live Betting Odds Pick
The Pacific Division will also boast Sharks defenseman Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson. The Pacific will be the home team so to speak and has a great lineup led by McDavid and Gaudreau. Fleury in goal only serves to enhance their chances for the win.
