Things could've gone sideways for them after they were beaten in Game 4, a game which they were clearly the better team for the majority of the night, but instead, they dominated and walked out of Dallas one game away from the Western Conference Finals....
The New York Islanders have blown so many chances in this series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Now, after their latest blunder, blowing a 1-0 lead in the third period of Game 4, they've been pushed to the brink of elimination and will have to win three playoff games in a row for the first time in almost 30 years. Game 5 is the first test, and it comes on Sunday afternoon....
Cody Eakin was the hero for the Dallas Stars in so many more ways than one on Thursday night. Not only did he score the game-winning goal in overtime to level this series at two games apiece, but he also essentially made the save at the beginning of the third period on a bouncing puck that would've clearly beaten Keri Lehtonen and changed this entire series.In spite of the fact that it feels like the St. Louis Blues have dominated this series, we've got a 2-2 series heading back to Dallas for Game 5....
The Nashville Predators have survived literally everything in these playoffs. They were down 3-2 in the series against Anaheim and fought back to win the series. They were down 0-2 in this series as well and have knotted things up.But most importantly, they were able to score the goal against the San Jose Sharks to win Game 4 after looking dead in the water several times over the course of the evening....
The Washington Capitals are set to be tested as they haven't been tested before this season. They need to win three games in a row against the hottest team in hockey to keep their season alive, but they have to win one of those games first. The good news is that Game 5 is at home. The bad news is that the Pittsburgh Penguins have really been the better of these two teams in this series, and there's no doubt they have pedigree and history on their side....
The Dallas Stars have a big problem on their hands. They're being run off the ice right now because they just don't have a goaltender worthy of bringing them on a really deep push in May. The St. Louis Blues are happy to keep pouring pucks in the back of the net, but they'll hope their outburst in Game 3 doesn't leave their offense dry in Thursday's Game 4....
The one thing we've learned about the Nashville Predators in this postseason is to never count them out. They looked like they were basically dead in the water against Anaheim down 3-2 and rallied back to win that series, and they looked equally dead against the San Jose Sharks after losing the first two games at the SAP Center and falling behind 1-0 at home in Game 3....
The Tampa Bay Lightning came back from down 1-0, 3-2 and 4-3 to beat the New York Islanders in Game 3 of this best-of-seven series. Momentum is a funny thing, and if the Bolts can keep that rolling after a couple days off, they can put this series on lockdown in Game 4 in Brooklyn....
