Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (26-0, 8 KOs, 8 SUBs) will finally lock horns with Irish superstar Conor McGregor (21-3, 18 KOs, 1 SUB). The title fight headlines UFC 229 on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card airs live on pay-per-view starting 10 pm ET.

From now until UFC 229, remember to make your daily sacrifices to the MMA gods to ensure that both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor make it Las Vegas healthy, make weight and step inside the cage. Losing the biggest fight of all time would put a ton of fans on suicide watch.

Of course, the anticipation for this fight applies to the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu. We’ve been tracking the money lines on both guys ever since they opened months ago, but a contest of this magnitude is going to come with more prop bets than usual. In fact, you might see some of the crazier ones release soon, much like we saw when McGregor fought Mayweather. That’s when you could bet on how long the national anthem would take, whether the Biebs would walkout with Mayweather, and tons of weird stuff.

Our in-depth betting guide drops next week, but we wanted to give you a heads up on some of the available plays you’ll be able to make. Make sure to tune next week to get our expert opinions!

Our Thoughts on the Odds

Just a reminder: there are even more bets to make, but we’re just listing some of the more popular prop bets here. This should give you a great idea of the huge array of options you have.

If you were going to bet on McGregor, we strongly suggest you take him to win inside the distance. The payout is easily better than a straight play to win, and it takes into account Mystic Mac’s best chance to win. His left-hand is basically a nuclear bomb, and if he emerges victorious, it’s highly doubtful it’ll come as the result of a grinder against the best MMA wrestler in the game.

We also like both prices for Nurmagomedov’s finishing options. If there’s one area where McGregor is vulnerable, it’s on the ground. Combine the talent gap in that phase with Conor’s tendency to go through patches of fatigue, and there’s a great chance that Khabib either pounds him out or finds a finish. Both the Nurmagomedov by TKO and Nurmagomedov by submission bets have hefty payouts, and for our money we like getting more than a 3-1 return on the KO/TKO.

We highly recommend staying away from round betting, as you’re pretty much throwing darts in the dark. The over/under at 2.5 is much more manageable, and the lines are pretty even as of this writing. That’s not the case for playing whether the fight goes to decision, as oddsmakers obviously expect this will end early.
