Blachowicz said this to bloodyelbow.com about his upcoming fight against Teixeira, “You cannot be too fast because he is a smart guy, an old fox. He has a lot of experience. He knows how to survive. He can grab you in his game so you need to wait a little bit. Like (Alexander) Gustafsson waited until the fifth round to knock him out. This is also something that I want to do. If I hit him hard, if I see that he will go down I will wait. Okay, stand up; let’s go a little bit more. He will not catch me in his game. I’m going to be ready for it.”

Teixeira said this to ge.globo.com about his upcoming fight against Blachowicz, “I'm alert with Jan Blachowicz, he's a smart guy, who also learned how to train, had ups and downs in his career as well, he adjusted there, and you can see he's a guy who's fighting smarter now. But we already know we've seen that it's possible to beat him and the path of stones. I'm going to break him until he breaks. I'm pulling, I'm pulling, and the guys are breaking down, the guys can't handle the pressure. And, of course, I have to be aware that the man hits hard, but I'm going to get there, take him down, and smart. I hit really hard too. I'm training a lot of boxing, a lot of wrestling, training a lot and feeling great. I'm feeling like a champion.”

UFC Picks
I don’t think there is much question that Blachowicz is the better fighter, but I am not laying nearly 3-1 on him. Teixeira is a tough fighter and not without a chance in this fight. I did find it interesting that Blachowicz is saying he is going to be patient and it is not like either of these two are great finishers. I will take over 2.5 rounds at -120 in a fight that could last longer than most people expect.
