Chimaev said this to mmajunkie.usatoday.com about his upcoming fight against Diaz, “Yeah, of course (I’m surprised), because he himself tells the interviews (this is) a bad matchup for him. Like, I can smash that guy easy. The guy is getting older. He’s not that guy that beat McGregor. He’s not that young guy. This is his last fight. He’s going to lose this fight and go do some boxing show. He’s a warrior. Nobody can take that away from him. He comes to fight until the last second. Like he said always, kill or be killed. He’s doing all the time. Respect for him to take the fight. It’s a bad fight for him.”

VIDEO UFC Picks
Can you remember the last time a fighter was this big of a favorite in a UFC main event? It has happened, but not in some time. You might not think that a favorite this big could lose, but again, it has happened. The one you might remember was in 2015 when Holly Holm shocked Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. The odds on Rousey were about -1400 and that is similar to what we see on Chimaev in this fight. Do I think Diaz has a chance? No. I can’t see any path of victory for Diaz, as Chimaev is simply the superior fighter. I am definitely not laying this type of price though. Diaz is a tough fighter and he will at least want to put out a good effort. The rounds on this fight are listed at 1.5 so I’ll lay the -160 and go over 1.5 rounds.
