Blachowicz said this to mmafighting.com about his upcoming fight against Ankalaev, “Very good fighter, young fighter, a lot of wins in a row. It’s going to be a tough opponent for me, but everybody is tough in the UFC. I’m ready for him. I’m ready for what he’s got for me. We trained for him. We know his weaknesses, we know his best weapons, and I have to just do my best inside the octagon. He fought with very good guys, with top fighters. He fought with the fighters who beat me, so he’s very good and I need to be careful for everything, knockout punch power, good wrestling, good control on the ground. I’ve got a lot of respect for him, but in a way, I go to this fight with the win in my head, always.”

UFC Picks
The light heavyweight title is on the line, as Jiri Prochazka had to give up the title due to a shoulder injury. Blachowicz has won six of his last seven fights, while Ankalaev has won his last nine bouts. This matchup looks to be an excellent one and a great way for the UFC to end their pay-per-view events for 2022. Blachowicz and Prochazka have power, but there is no question that Blachowicz is the heavy hitter and his path to victory in this fight would seem to be to turn it into a brawl. Ankalaev has power, but he is a very technical fighter and always seem to have the fight in the position he wants it to be in. I think Ankalaev is the better fighter, but I am shocked the price is nearly 3-1. I would definitely take Ankalaev to win this fight if the odds were lower but at this price, I am looking more at the props. I think Ankalaev to win by decision at plus money is worth considering and if Blachowicz gets the win, it would seem likely it would be by TKO, so taking a flyer on him to win by TKO at big odds is worth a small flyer.
