UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill Betting

Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-1, 10-2-1 UFC)

Figueiredo came into the UFC with a record of 11-0 and he has 10 wins, two losses, and one draw in the UFC. In his last six fights, he has four wins, one loss, and one draw. He defeated Joseph Benavidez by TKO, Joseph Benavidez by technical submission, Alex Perez by guillotine choke submission, and Brandon Moreno by unanimous decision; while losing to Brandon Moreno by rear-naked choke submission, and fighting to a draw against Brandon Moreno by majority. Figueiredo has been a pro since 2012 and he has nine wins by TKO/KO and eight by submission. He has 11 first round finishes.

Figueiredo said this to ufc.com about his upcoming fight against Moreno, “It’s a fight that’s stressing me out, and it’s annoying. It’s my fourth fight with this guy. I’m definitely going there to end this once and for all. Well, anything can happen in MMA. He can change his game overnight, which is what I’m also doing. There are too many techniques that we can acquire to change our game. I’m constantly changing my fighting style. After watching his last fight, I’ve noticed he hasn’t changed much. But I’m constantly changing, and he can expect new stuff from me in the Octagon. The belt stays home; I'm feeling 100% healthy. My expectation for this fight is to come out with the win and make the Brazilian fans who will be attending the show really happy.”

Brandon Moreno (20-6-2, 8-3-2 UFC)

Moreno came into the UFC with a record of 11-3 and he has eight wins, three losses, and two draws in the UFC. In his last six fights, he has four wins, one loss, and one draw. He defeated Jussier Formiga by unanimous decision, Brandon Royval by TKO, Deiveson Figueiredo by rear-naked choke submission, and Kai Kara-France by TKO; while losing to Deiveson Figueiredo by unanimous decision, and fighting to a draw against Deiveson Figueiredo by majority. Moreno has been a pro since 2011 and he has four wins by TKO/KO and 11 by submission. He has eight first round finishes.

Moreno said this to essentiallysports.com about his upcoming fight against Figueiredo, “This is the fourth one against Figi [Deiveson Figueiredo]. Maybe in the third one, I was a little bit tired mentally. Not physically but mentally I was just like, the same game plan. I was like trying to fix some things but I had the same phase, I had the same game plan. So, yeah, I was a little bit tired. Definitely, the fight against Kai Kara-France helps in the ‘mentally’ part because you know the new phase and new game plan. You know that helps a lot. So right now I feel so fresh man. I feel so happy. I feel so excited again. And it’s amazing because I have the same good vibes as when I fought against him in the second one. I feel happy again I feel excited. I am ready to fight. Maybe all the stress, all the pressure from the media, or whatever from the third one I started to feel mentally tired. But now I am ready.”

UFC Picks

These two have met three times and it is totally even, with each getting a win and the other fight ending in a draw. The latest win came for Figueiredo in January of last year and it was by unanimous decision. I don’t know that anything has changed since that fight other than the locale, and we know that the fans will be heavily in favor of Figueiredo. The UFC odds on this fight are basically a pick, but I think the edge has to go to Figueiredo, based on his win last time against Moreno and the fact he is fighting in front of his fans in Brazil. I’ll take Figueiredo to get the win.
