UFC 295: Procházka vs. Pereira Betting
Jirí Procházka (29-3-1, 3-0 UFC)
Procházka came into the UFC with a record of 26-3-1 and he has three wins and no losses in the UFC. He defeated Volkan Oezdemir by KO, Dominick Reyes by KO, and Glover Teixeira by rear-naked choke submission. Procházka’s last loss in his career was against Muhammed Lawal by KO in December of 2015. Procházka has been a pro since 2012 and he has 25 wins by TKO/KO and three by submission. He has 23 first round finishes.
Procházka said this to mmafighting.com about his upcoming fight against Pereira, “It’s for me a beautiful story and big challenge, I have to say, Alex, he’s not a good martial artist like on the ground on the wrestling but one thing he can do and knows what to do is his striking. It will be a pleasure to compete with him in the stand-up. He’s good in stand-up but not good in wrestling and all these things. He’s too much focused on striking. He’s very good at that but on the other things, other styles; he’s not good, too. I am not too good of a wrestler to say that but I think I am better than him. That’s my opinion, my stance.”
Alex Pereira (8-2, 5-1 UFC)
Pereira came into the UFC with a record 3-1 and he has five wins and one loss in the UFC. He defeated Andreas Michailidis by TKO, Bruno Silva by unanimous decision, Sean Strickland by KO, Israel Adesanya by TKO, and Jan Blachowicz by split decision; while losing to Israel Adesanya by KO. Pereira has been a pro since 2015 and he has six wins by TKO/KO and two by decision. He has three first round finishes.
Pereira said this to mmafighting.com about his upcoming fight against Procházka, “The thing that makes him dangerous is all the experience he has. He’s a seasoned fighter. He’s dangerous, but that helps to keep me aware and not overlook the guy. I’m actually preparing to go over there and get it done. He’s a seasoned and experienced guy. That plays a part in it.”

UFC Picks
Is there any real doubt that this will be a striking battle? These two have no desire at all to get the fight to the mat. Procházka says he has more skill on the mat, but it is hard to see wrestling playing much part in this fight. The odds on this fight are basically a pick, so no one really has a strong opinion on who will win. I agree, as this fight looks like a toss-up. The rounds on this fight surprise me a little bit, as they are listed at 1.5. I know both fighters have excellent power and have a lot of knockouts on their resume, but this is a title fight and I think there will be a feeling out process. The fight doesn’t need to go long to surpass the 1.5 rounds. I’ll go over the round total in this fight.
