Silva said this to sportskeeda.com about her upcoming fight against Pennington, “I will knock her out. I have trained hard and I don't have any knockout wins in the UFC, only submissions. But I believe now is my time, I'm ready to knock her out. She is very tough, I respect everything she did but now it's my moment.”
Silva also said this to mmajunkie.usatoday.com about her upcoming fight against Pennington, “On paper, it’s not a good fight because nobody wants to watch this fight – I know. This fight on paper is no good. But I promise I will give a big show for everybody.
Everybody (will go) home and think about, ‘Hey, this girl Mayra Bueno Silva is the chosen one.’ Raquel is tougher than Julianna. Julianna is easy money. … I think she’s tough. She has good boxing, but doesn’t have good jiu-jitsu or a good takedown. I think I’m better than her in everything, but she’s tough. It’s hard to hurt her. I will knock her out – I believe this. I believe – 100 percent.”

UFC Picks
When you look at this fight, I think Silva has all of the edges. I respect Pennington and what she has done, but Silva is just a little bit better. Look at the stats above and you’ll notice that Silva is just a little bit better than Pennington in almost every category. Silva is favored in this fight at -165 and I think that is a fair price. This could be a fight that goes the distance, but what Silva said about getting the knockout at least make me pause a little bit on playing the rounds total. I think the best play in this fight is to simply take Silva to win.
