He defeated Andreas Michailidis by TKO, Bruno Silva by unanimous decision, Sean Strickland by KO, Israel Adesanya by TKO, Jan Blachowicz by split decision, and Jirí Procházka by TKO; while losing to Israel Adesanya by KO, Pereira has been a pro since 2015 and he has seven wins by TKO/KO and two by decision. Pereira said this to mmaweekly.com about his upcoming fight against Hill, “I feel very good. I'm ready. This camp was good, perfect camp, perfect training partners and the energy is good. I think Jiri is more accurate and precise on his strikes, the way that he flows, and the way that he fights. Jamahal Hill has a little bit more advantage on his power which makes him dangerous too because nobody wants to take a hit and go down in fights. But when you talk about skill level, Jiri Procházka is superior. I want to bring the same level of excitement for the fans at light heavyweight. I want to make the fans want to by the pay-per-view. I want to make the fans get excited for my performance.”
Jamahal Hill (12-1, 6-1 UFC)
Hill came into the UFC with a record of 6-0 and he has six wins and one loss in the UFC. He defeated Darko Stošic by unanimous decision, Ovince Saint Preux by TKO, Jimmy Crute by KO, Johnny Walker by KO, Thiago Santos by TKO, and Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision; while losing to Paul Craig by TKO. Hill has been a pro since 2017 and he has seen wins by TKO/KO and five by decision. He has four first round finishes.
Hill said this to mmamania.com about his upcoming fight against Pereira, “He’s been pieced up before. We’ve seen him pieced up. We’ve seen him dominated. We’ve seen him knocked out. We’ve seen him rocked. We’ve seen your level. We’ve never seen my level. I’ve never even seen my peak level. I’m already levels above what people see and what I’ve had to show. The level I’m truly, truly on is way above what people have seen — not just from myself, but from others. I’m dominating these guys and I haven’t scratched the surface.”

UFC Picks
Pereira has looked really good in the past couple of years, winning two belts in two divisions. Hill has also been impressive, having won his last four bouts. Oddsmakers have Pereira listed as a slight favorite in this bout. I think Hill is a live underdog, but I have to admit I was hoping for a much bigger price. I still lean to Hill, but not by a lot.
I am a little surprised at the rounds total. I think there may very well be a finish in this fight, but I am not so sure it comes quickly. The rounds are listed at 1.5 and it doesn’t take much for a fight to make it past the midway point of the second round. I’ll lay the -170 and take the rounds to go over 1.5.
