Undefeated light heavyweight prospect Dominick Reyes (8-0, 5 KOs, 2 SUBs) will meet hard-hitting Jared Cannonier (10-3, 5 KOs, 3 SUBs) at UFC Fight Night 129 on Saturday, May 19, at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The main card airs live on FS1 starting 10 p.m. ET. Bet on the latest UFC odds at BookMaker.eu and check out our previews, picks and predictions now.

It’s time to see how good Dominick Reyes is. The undefeated 28-year old is an exciting young fighter in a light heavyweight division in sore need of prospects. He’s passed his first two UFC tests with flying colors, earning first-round finishes against Joachim Christensen and Jeremy Kimball, but now it’s time to level up the competition.

“The Devastator” isn’t getting a ranked opponent just yet, but in Jared Cannonier, he’s getting a guy that’s shared the cage with some notable fighters. Despite a 1-2 record in his last three, Cannonier’s losses came against perennial contender Glover Teixeira and the rising Jan Blachowciz. The 34-year old Alaskan ain’t nothin’ to mess with.

The 205-pounders clash on the main card of this Saturday’s UFC 129 in Chile. Let’s check in with the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu, break down the matchup and get to your best betting options.

Matchup Preview
At first glance, Reyes’ numbers are ridiculous. Nobody lands over 7 strikes per minute at a 65% clip over their career. And nearly four takedowns a fight with 100% accuracy? Those are some video game numbers propped up by Reyes’ low level of competition to date. Still, where there’s smoke there’s fire, and you don’t pile up stats like that without some level of skill.

A former NFL hopeful, Reyes is an excellent athlete and big even by light heavyweight standards. A 6’4” southpaw with long arms and legs, The Devastator is an aggressive kickboxer with a deadly round kick and TNT-laced straight left. He simply overwhelmed his last two opponents, who couldn’t handle his side, speed and aggression. Training with former champion Joe Stevenson is quickly paying off.

Cannonier is no slouch of an athlete either, with explosive power of his own - this is a guy that used to throw down with heavyweights. While is KO ratio might not show it, The Killa Gorilla has exceptional hand speed and you can see the force behind each of his shots.

Though he passes the eyeball test, Cannonier has weaknesses in every area. He’s a bit short for the division, and could not Jan Blachowicz’ jabs. Glover Teixeira put him on his back and kept him there, though Cannonier displayed submission defense. In toe-to-toe exchanges, he’s got the speed and power to hold his ground.

UFC Odds Pick: Reyes to win at -285
Cannonier is a live ‘dog as Reyes is taking a huge step up in competition. But Cannonier has problems against bigger, technical strikers, and Reyes is one of his biggest opponents yet. At this price, Reyes is worth a small bet, either as a straight bet or a s a parlay booster.
