Lemos said this to mmamania.com about her upcoming fight against Andrade, “To be honest, I didn’t imagine it was going to be a main event until I saw the fight was against Andrade. I imagined maybe a co-main event or something like that because I’m really in the moment, I was coming off of a main card, she’s been having lots of good fights, she’s highly ranked, so I knew that it was going to be a high position but I didn’t expect it to be a main event. If I put on a show against Jessica Andrade, I think it’s very possible that the title comes next and that’s the goal. It’s definitely a great opportunity and I was searching for a fight like this for a while. She’s a famous, famous fighter, a former champ a really tough fighter. I was really glad to get this opportunity to be able to show the audience how good I am and how far I’ve come.”
Jessica Andrade (22-9, 13-7 UFC)
Andrade came into the UFC with a record of 9-2 and she has 13 wins and seven losses in the UFC. In her last six fights, she has three wins and three losses. She defeated Rose Namajunas by KO, Katlyn Chookagian by TKO, and Cynthia Calvillo by TKO; while losing to Zhang Weili by TKO, Rose Namajunas by split decision, and Valentina Shevchenko by TKO. Andrade has been a pro since 2011 and she has nine wins by TKO/KO and seven by submission. She has 10 first round finishes.
Andrade said this to ufc.com about her upcoming fight against Lemos, “I think what excites me the most about this fight with Amanda is the strength that she has. I want to fight the best, I want to face the strongest, and Amanda is definitely among those. We were in similar situations in the organization. I know a lot of opponents turned me down, and a lot of opponents turned her down; we are both game and willing to do what others are not. I believe the fight will have a little bit of everything: groundwork, fence work, and lots of striking, lots of action. I hope it's a good fight, right? That she gives her best because I always go in to give my best, and don't let the judges decide the main event. We have to put on a show for the people who will be there watching, so I hope it happens the best way possible, that no one gets seriously injured, and we can have a great match and put on a great fight.”

UFC Picks
The question we have to answer is just how good is Lemos? We know that Andrade is a very capable fighter who can finish opponents. Lemos has not fought nearly the level of competition that Andrade has faced and she just barely got past Angela Hill in her last fight. I lean slightly to Andrade but I think the better bet could be the rounds. This is a main event fight so it is scheduled for five rounds and neither of these fighters seems prepared for a long, hard fight. They are also very good finishers, so this fight should end in a finish. I’ll take the rounds to go under the total.
