Ribas said this to mmajunkie.usatoday.com about her upcoming fight against Namajunas, “If someone had said to me that in five years time I would be the main event of a card against Rose Namajunas, I would not have believed them and I would have told them to shut up. My manifestations for 2024 are simply being able to do in the octagon what I do in the gym on a daily basis and to be consistent with my skills. I’m training really well, and I just hope that I can get this big win. I know I need to specialize in my conditioning for this fight because I am prepared to do five rounds, and Rose is really good with her cardio. She is fast, as well. I need to keep my distance and conserve my energy, because I cannot let her get to her maximum velocity or into her flow state. I need to be very careful of that. I can stop her with my distance and my striking, so I think that I will knock Rose out in the third round. I would love to fight at UFC Rio, as well, and I would love to get a bonus.”
Rose Namajunas (11-6, 9-5 UFC)
Namajunas came into the UFC with a record of 2-1 and she has nine wins and five losses in the UFC. In her last six fights, she has three wins and three losses. Namajunas has been a pro since 2013 and she has two wins by TKO/KO and five by submission. She has four first round finishes.

This fight is really important because I am [ranked] No. 8 in the flyweight division, so I think if I win, I can go to the top in the flyweight division.”

UFC Picks
I don’t know what to think of Namajunas, as on paper she should win this fight, but who knows where her head is at after losing her last two fights. Ribas shouldn’t win this fight if Namajunas is focused. I can’t make any case for taking Ribas, but I am leery about laying more than 2-1 on Namajunas.
It was interesting to read what Ribas had to say about this fight. She boasted about a possible finish in the third round but she also was talking about her cardio and how important it would be. I think the best choice is to simply take the rounds to go over the total.
