UFC Picks
Muniz looked really good coming out of Dana White’s Contender Series. He looked like a future star as he won each of his first five UFC bouts. He won three of those by submission. Things went downhill from there, as Muniz was beaten by Brendan Allen in February. That loss was somewhat understandable, as Allen is a good fighter, but then Muniz lost last time out to Paul Craig. And the loss to Craig was by knockout and Craig is not known for his power.
Park comes into this fight in excellent form, as he has won seven of his last eight, including his last four. His last three wins have come by submission. It should be noted, however, that Park really hasn’t faced anyone of note.
We know that Park is going to continually push forward in this fight and look to wear out Muniz. It is hard to know what to expect of Muniz. He has more physical skill, as he is three inches taller and he has five-inch reach edge. The problem with taking Muniz is that he can’t be trusted to do what is needed to win.
Park is listed as the favorite in this fight at -175. If Muniz hadn’t looked so bad last time out, I think you could make a case for taking him at the plus price. Maybe we just throw that last fight against Craig out and take Muniz at the plus price. I am not laying the price on Park.
I think the rounds are the best choice in this fight. I am really surprised the rounds option is listed at just 1.5. I think there is a decent chance this fight goes to a decision and we don’t even need that to win this fight, as we just need the fight to go past the halfway mark. I’ll go over the rounds total in this fight.
