UFC Picks
It has been a while since the UFC had a top fight that was this much of a mismatch. Tsarukyan has been a top 10 fighter in the lightweight division for many years, but he simply hasn’t gotten many great matchups. It is not going to happen this time around either.
Silva is 5-3 in the UFC and we know what he is going to do, as he is simply a brawler. Tsarukyan has the better cardio and if he stays away from the big blitzes of Silva this fight is going to be extremely one-sided. The most likely scenario is that Silva comes hard and fast at Tsarukyan and gets caught, resulting in a Tsarukyan finish.
The problem we have with a fight like this is the odds. Tsarukyan is listed as about a 10-1 favorite in UFC odds for this fight. Is he going to win? Almost assuredly. Am I laying that type of number? No way. I will lay 2-1 once in a while, but anything can happen in the UFC and I am not laying 10-1 on anyone. Since we can’t lay the big price, and we want no part of the underdog, we have two choices. We can bet on how Tsarukyan wins this fight or we can bet the rounds. Oddsmakers have listed the rounds at 1.5, so it seems likely that Tsarukyan will win this fight by finish. We could choose to take the rounds to go under but at 1.5 there is not much margin for error. I think the better option is to wait for the props to come out and bet on Tsarukyan to win by finish. The last four fights of Silva’s have ended by knockout, with Silva winning two and losing two. It should be a Tsarukyan finish on Saturday night, likely by knockout.
