UFC Picks

This should be an entertaining fight to watch, as both fighters are not afraid of taking a hit. Tavares has 20 wins and 9 losses with some of those losses coming against excellent fighters including Gregory Rodrigues, Bruno Silva, and the reigning middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis.

Tavares is all action, averaging more than three strikes per minute and taking almost as many shots. His ability to strike is very good, but he struggles on the mat. The good news is that he does have an 81% success rate in defending takedowns and that will be important in this match.

Park Jun-yong has 17 wins and 6 losses in his career and he gets his wins in a variety of ways with five by knockout, six by submission and six by decision. There is no question that Park would prefer to get this fight to the mat, as he has the edge in submission skills.

Park is listed as the favorite in UFC betting odds in this fight with the rounds listed at 2.5 with the over a hefty favorite. I don’t know that I want to get involved in picking a side in this one. I definitely don’t want to lay any type of price on Park in a fight that looks to be even. What does stand out in this fight to me is that neither fighter is a great finisher. Park does have some ability to finish the fight on the mat, but Tavares is well aware that he doesn’t want this fight to go to the ground and Tavares has a good takedown defense. I see this one going the distance so I will go over the rounds total.
