Alexandre Pantoja said this to mmanews.com about the upcoming fight between Moreno and Albazi, “I think Albazi has more chance to get the victory. He’s very close to fight for the belt, I think he not going to miss the opportunity, you know. Moreno is an incredible fighter, former champ, but maybe Albazi want more in that moment. Albazi maybe want more and his grappling is very good. I don’t know if Moreno can defend the takedown shots. I don’t know if Moreno, his boxing, can work against Albazi because Albazi moves a lot, he has very good wrestling. I think that fight is going to be a decision for Albazi and I don’t want to say like if you have an easy fight or something like that but I like to grapple. I think in that moment right now, a grappler for me, it’s a perfect fight. It’s a good challenge of course, all is different but I have very good jiu-jitsu and I’m very comfortable in the ground game.”

UFC Picks
How much does Moreno really want to fight? That is my question. He lost to Brandon Royval in February and then said he wanted to take time off. Is he ready for another five-round war? Albazi is also coming off a long layoff, as he hasn’t fought since June of 2023 when he won a split decision against Kai Kara-France. Moreno is listed as the UFC betting favorite in this fight at odds of -163. The rounds are listed at 4.5 with the over at -210.
If Moreno is motivated to show up and really fight then I think he is the choice in this fight. Who knows what we are going to get from Albazi coming off a long layoff. With two fighters coming off layoffs will both of them be prepared to go five rounds? I’ll take Moreno at -163 to win this fight and also play the rounds to go under the total of 4.5 at +165.
