Witt said this to mymmanews.com about his upcoming fight against Barberena, You can’t make the little mistakes at this level. I lost the last fight pretty quickly and I just made a stupid mistake. I paid for it, it was embarrassing for me, and it really sucked. You need a short memory in this game. I know I belong here, (in the past) sometimes I would doubt that I belonged here or not, but I know I have the skill set to beat anybody in that cage. One of the biggest takeaways is knowing I belong there, a confidence booster. Barberena is a tough veteran; you have a tough veteran in me. I’m hard to put away…. He’s hard to put away, I’m going to grind him out.”

UFC Picks
Barbarena is favored in this fight and it makes sense, as he has more experience in the UFC. Perhaps Barbarena will indeed get the win, but I am not laying nearly 3-1 on him. Barbarena is basically a .500 fighter in the UFC and I just can’t lay big money on him against a decent fighter in Witt. I think the better choice is the rounds. I know that we get a lot of meaningless talk when fighters discuss their upcoming bouts, but I think what Barbarena said is important to consider. He expects this fight to be a war that goes the distance and I agree. Barbarena made a mistake in his last fight and got caught early and I think he will be much more cautious this time around. We get plus money on the rounds to go over in this fight, so I will take the rounds to go over the total.
