Aspinall said this to mmafighting.com about his upcoming fight against Blaydes, “Curtis Blaydes is probably the toughest fight in the division for me stylistically. But I’m okay with that because that pushes me to a whole new level. That pushes me to levels I’ve never been before, and that’s what I need. If I’m with someone that’s going to make me comfortable, I’m going to stay exactly where I am and do the exact same work that I’ve been doing. If you’re going to give me someone that I think is a scary fight and you’re going to give me fear, you don’t want to see me scared, because I end up doing stuff like I did in the O2 the time I fought. I end up doing some crazy stuff that I’ve never done before. So me with a massive fight with a really tough guy, that’s dangerous. That’s dangerous for any heavyweight.”
He said to the media that this fight should end in a finish. “I’m one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC, I’ve got the best finishing record in the UFC, and I’ve got finishes from all different positions,” said Aspinall to the media, “I can win literally anywhere, which is pretty rare – especially for heavyweights. That’s how I see myself winning (against Blaydes), getting a finish. It’s heavyweight MMA, them gloves are so small and the heavyweights are so big; we can all beat each other. Ngannou’s the champion right now, and I know he’s a devastating puncher, but if someone lands clean on his chin, he’s gonna go over just like anyone else.”

UFC Picks
This fight looks really even and the oddsmakers agree, as Aspinall is just barely favored. I lean slightly to Aspinall but I think the rounds are definitely worth playing. It is just a matter of your tolerance for the price. I like the under 3.5 rounds option the best. You have to lay about -175 but I think the price is worth it rather than playing under 1.5 or 2.5 rounds at a more favorable number.
