UFC Fight Night: Dawson vs. Green Betting
Grant Dawson (20-1-1, 8-0-1 UFC)
Dawson came into the UFC with a record of 12-1 and he has eight wins, no losses, and one draw in the UFC. He defeated Julian Erosa by unanimous decision, Michael Trizano by rear-naked choke submission, Darrick Minner by rear-naked choke submission, Nad Narimani by unanimous decision, Leonardo Santos by KO, Jared Gordon by rear-naked choke submission, Mark Madsen by rear-naked choke submission, and Damir Ismagulov by unanimous decision; while fighting to a draw against Ricky Glenn.
Dawson’s only loss in his career was against Hugh Pulley by TKO in April of 2016. Dawson has been a pro since 2014 and he has four wins by TKO/KO and 13 by submission. He has seven first round finishes.
Dawson said this to mmanews.com about his upcoming fight against Green, “I haven't really been getting the respect I deserve. I feel like I'm kind of the really good fighter that nobody knows about in lightweight, and part of that is because I haven't gotten that Tony Ferguson, that Bobby Green, that veteran name under my belt yet. I knew that once I did get that type of fight, everything's going to blow up. And it being in the main event is just an even bigger stamp on getting that attention that I think I deserve.”
“I think that a really good performance over Bobby Green in the main event in two weeks just blows me up. I love the matchup. It's not just because it's a grappler vs. striker-type style. I do think he's somebody who has enough experience. He's not afraid of me. He doesn't care who I am... He's going to come out and he's going to fight me one hundred percent of the time. He's not going to lose to me walking to the cage, which is what I like. I want him to come fight me... It's a big fight opportunity for me. There's a bunch of pressure on my shoulders to perform, and I absolutely love that.”
Bobby Green (30-14-1, 11-9-1 UFC)

UFC Picks
There is a lot to like about Dawson, as he has gone 8-0-1 in the UFC. He is one of the more exciting fighters in the UFC and deserves this main event. Green is no slouch and he has some skills on the mat, but he is probably in over his head in this fight. That being said, the price on Dawson is definitely too high for me. I do think Green can keep this fight competitive for a while and that should be long enough for the rounds to go over the total.
