Rakic said this to mmajunkie.usatoday.com about his upcoming fight against Blachowicz, “I don’t want to underestimate Jan Blachowicz. He was a champion, he beat Israel Adesanya, and he had some good fights in the UFC. Maybe this was not his night, and I guess he’ll be motivated in the fight against me. He’s a tough opponent, for sure, he’s a former champion. But look, I’m going to turn 30 in a few months, and I’m getting now in my prime, and I feel it in the training. Also mentally and physically and a man in his prime, especially me, it’s going to be a good fight, and I’m going to be well prepared for him. I’m still going to give everything at this point and try to finish the fight in the fastest way to end this fight and end this day at least. He’s an awesome fighter, I respect him as a fighter, and he’s great. But like I said, I’m a man on a mission. I have a hell of a team behind me, and I’m getting into my prime.”

UFC Picks
Is Rakic really good enough to be listed as a 2-1 favorite against Blachowicz? I was leaning toward Blachowicz before I looked at the price and now there is no question I am taking Blachowicz. He has faced better competition than has Rakic and if you are going to make a case for Rakic to win this bout you have to say that Blachowicz is no longer a title contender and I don’t think that is the case, as each of the last three Blachowicz fights have been title bouts. Perhaps Rakic will be a future title contender, but he still has to prove it. I don’t know that he will do it in this fight against Blachowicz. What I do know is that the value is definitely on Blachowicz. I will take the plus price and take Blachowicz to get the win.
