Chris Curtis said this to bjpenn.com about the upcoming matchup between Cannonier and Strickland, “I think Sean has a lot of ways to win this fight, I think he has more ways to win than Jared does. But, Jared also hits like a freaking tank so it’s a matter of Sean being smart and being patient. It goes back to what I said earlier about fighting to fight or fighting to win. If Sean fights to win this fight, I think he can win pretty easily. If he fights this fight to fight, well now we are talking about some danger because if Jared touches you he can hurt you. So, he should do well in this if he fights with his head and not his pride. We will see. I think he’s looking to get back on track and go out there and be smart. He will be Sean but will be smart about it.”

UFC Picks
These two fighters are coming off losses so this is a big fight for both Cannonier and Strickland. It was ugly last time out for Strickland who was dominated by Alex Pereira, while Cannonier lost to Israel Adesanya but he held his own and went the distance against the champ. The question in this fight is whether or not Strickland can keep Cannonier on the outside. When I look at the odds I am definitely surprised, as I thought Cannonier would be listed as a solid favorite. I can’t pass on him at the price of a pick. I am also surprised at the rounds and the prop on the fight to go the distance. Both of these fighters have a lot of power and it would be a surprise to see this fight go to a decision, so I will take the fight not to go to a decision at even money.
